Like the vertical disk enclosure. Drives are mounted with removable trays. Unit is extremely quite, good value for price. Installed on Win 11 Pro OS. Only issue is cannot get the unit to come back online one the OS goes into hibernation mode, but in all fairness have not had time to contact seller. Work around power the enclosure on and off.

Be aware , as some others have reported, this unit has the potential to corrupt drives. I have had it happen to a couple new drives that were loaded with data and then reinstalled later to find the disk structure gets corrupted. Chkdsk cannot even access the disk. The only way i have found to recover is format/losing all the data. I will update this if orico responds to my inquiry for a firmware update/doubtful. It would be a nice unit overall if i could trust it....

This enclosure feels a little flimsy at times, but functionality wise it works great. If this is something that sits on a desk and isn’t moved around a lot, this is perfect. If you intend on traveling with this, best to find a more durable rugged alternative.

Device would disconnect drives often and I would have to restart it for them to initialize again. Tried 3 different hard drives but all disconnected after a few minutes. Returned it and my new DAS from a different company works as expected. Wouldn't recommend.

I installed two Seagate HD and the computer recognized them immediately. It will go into a sleep mode if you don't use the drives frequently. There is a quick reset button the wakes the up.

Corrupted a drive within a day of installing it.

It's solved my storage issues without complications or a huge expense. The ease of use and flexibility are standout features for me. While the fan noise and plastic build are minor annoyances, they weren’t deal-breakers given the price point. The fan and vertical air duct does improve circulation to help keep the drives cool while in use. I like that the top is magnetic and I just push down to pop it open or closed.The drives slot into their respective bays using the trays provided and installing the hard drives to those was really easy. I like the compact, modern, sleek, and sturdy design of the case, but really wish it were made of metal as most heat-sinks and other hard drive cases are. The case is plastic but the hard drive trays are metal. One cool and unexpected feature was it’s auto-sleep mode which hibernates the hard drives when my computer goes to sleep from inactivity. The power adapter plug gave plenty of power for the hard drives to operate normally. The data transfer speeds varied but kept up to around what the company stated, around 200-250 MB/s, notably faster than USB 3.0 speeds, so I was pleased with that.This two-bay hard drive enclosure is a solid choice for anyone needing extra storage. Its performance and affordability make it a worthwhile investment. Its ease of set up, fast data transfer speeds, and cooling fan to prevent overheating make it great to work with. It is quiet and durable. Very quick transfer speed. Hold 2 hard drives
