NOW Supplements, Niacin (Vitamin B-3) 500 mg, 100 Caps

I really wish people would refrain from posting bad reviews prior to educating themselves about a particular product. This is REGULAR Niacin, it WILL MAKE YOU TEMPORARILY RED and flushed, you may feel hot or even cold for up to maybe an hour,this is NORMAL!!!!! It's irritating when people give a product I'll reviews because they fail to realize this. I use Niacin for blood flow to the scalp while doing scalp massage or facial massage, it really gets your blood circulating. I have been using it for 3 years now and I really love it!

NOW makes reliable supplements and I am an avid flusher with Niacin and I have been using NOW brand regularly for 15 years. They are reasonably priced and usually cheaper and more reliable than most competitors. There are some really good companies in the nutritional supplementation industry.

I read reviews after I bought this while waiting for it to come in and I was worried about taking this because people where saying they had to go into the hospital over it. I'm taking this trying to lower my cholesterol levels and I was worried about the flushing but honestly it just feels like a sunburn (but not sensitive with touch like a normal sunburn) on face, ears, nose, arms, belly and in my case other sensitive areas. The flush only last 30 mins to an hour on me after that I'm fine. I do notice slight nausea after taking it during flush but not like I'm going to get sick from it. Sometimes I get a weird aftertaste that last awhile. The capsule is about the size of extra strength tylenol.

I bought NOW Foods Niacin 500 mg hoping to support my heart health, but my experience was far from positive. After taking just one 500 mg capsule on an empty stomach, I started feeling intense itching all over my body within 30 minutes—it was unbearable and lasted for over an hour. This is clearly the ‘niacin flush’ mentioned in reviews, but I wasn’t prepared for how severe it would be, especially spreading to my shoulders, back, and even my arms. On top of that, I also felt bloated and uncomfortable in my stomach, which made me hesitant to take it again. I understand niacin can cause flushing, but for a first-time user like me, the 500 mg dose felt way too high right out of the gate. The product description doesn’t emphasize enough how intense these side effects can be for beginners, and there’s no guidance on starting with a lower dose. I’ve since learned I should’ve taken it with food or started with a much smaller amount, but that information wasn’t clear on the bottle or packaging. While NOW Foods is a reputable brand, this product wasn’t a good fit for me due to the overwhelming side effects. I’m returning it and looking for a lower-dose or flush-free alternative. If you’re sensitive or new to niacin, I’d recommend skipping this or consulting a doctor first—otherwise, you might end up as uncomfortable as I did.” Pros: • Reputable brand, made in a GMP facility. • Vegetarian capsules, free of common allergens. Cons: • Extremely high 500 mg dose caused severe itching (flush) and bloating. • No clear instructions for beginners or sensitive users. • Side effects outweighed any potential benefits for me. UPDATE: Flush became worse during warm weather conditions and caused hypotension and become unconscious for few minutes. Very scary. Be careful if you are new to this.

It's getting cold outside. My joints were aching and cold. I bought this brand specifically for the flush and it delivered. My knees, shoulders, face, neck are all very warm now. This sure beats them being cold and aching. If you buy this product, know how to use it ahead of time. Don't leave bad reviews if it makes you hot. It's supposed to.

I actually got this for someone else because I had read it helps with a variety of things from hair and skin to mental clarity and vitality. I try everything on myself before I give it or recommend it to someone else. So I popped a pill of this and was expecting a warm “flush”.... but My scalp started to burn, and tingle like pins and needles, then my face. Not just warm. HOT. Then Bright tomato red. My ears started pounding. I was sweating, like just jogged around the block sweating. I could feel the blood pulsing in my head. I was scared, but I didn’t feel bad. So I wasn’t too - too worried. Then the hotness/fever and tomato color moved slowly down my body like a slow moving wave. Took about 10 minutes to start, Lasted about 2 hours. Then I was glowing. I literally felt like I was radiating. And I felt lighter and more alert. It was fascinating. I took it full strength 2 more times, thinking the next few times would be more mellow. Nope. So, I’ve been opening the capsules and sprinkling half of it into whatever I’m drinking. Coffee, Gatorade, water. This makes flushing immediate, but not nearly as intense. Still red, but not burning. After taking it I feel like I was in a sauna. Very interesting, and I like the way I feel afterward, so I will continue to take half a few times a week.

Niacin will give you a definite flush unless you get a controlled release. The standard Niacin is supposed to be more effective so I figured I could handle it. Lets just say that it was an extreme experience that started within 20 minutes of ingesting the vitamin and lasted for approximately 3 uncomfortable hours. My entire face was red and inflamed as well as my chest, arms and hands. You can see by the photos that my fingers on the tips turned very white and the the rest of the hand was RED. The bottom of my hands turned extremely white but my entire arm from the top down to the wrists were RED. I felt like my skin was on fire, as if I had a severe sunburn and then took a hot shower. My entire body including my legs itched. Luckily I planned ahead and took the Niacin on my day off. Had I taken this and went to work, I would not have been able to concentrate at all for 3 hours of my day. I did take this on a full stomach as I do with all my vitamins.

This dose is just too high for me. About 20 minutes after taking it once, I got itchy all over and had what looked like hives from scalp to feet. That lasted a little over an hour and then subsided. I did have great energy the next day. I don't think I had an actual allergice reaction, just an intense "niacin flush" experience. I have chosen a different product with a much, much lower dosage per tablet now.

The best niacin ive ever tried!

初めて飲んだ時15分位したら首から下がどんどん真っ赤になってきてびっくりしました！アレルギー反応かと。それが全身に広がっていきましたが、湿疹が出る様子はなく体がぽかぼかして血行が良くなったのがわかりました。ダイエットを初めて立ちくらみがひどくなってしまったので、改善されるのを期待しています！

不安感の緩和目的で購入。これ飲むようになってから、 メンタル的に安定してるような気がします。
