If I have straight hair do I have to use phase 1 or can I just use this ?

I can not tell cos, I normally use the phase 1. It helps to condition the hair before the step 2.

What happens if I skip step 2 and just use 1 & 3

Step 2 shapes the pattern, this is place on the hair fully covered set on rods
