I'm Inspired and Loving it...
I really like this book. I like recipes that are good and also unique and that will plate well for a gathering of friends. I have always had this bright idea to add pesto to mayonnaise, and my husband and son love it--again showing my desire for different styles of condiments. In the Fifty Shades of Kale book, there are recipes for Kale-onaise (which I made, and it was delicious, my husband really liked it, too) and a pesto using kale and walnuts--simply AWESOME!!!!! And the suggestion to add the pesto to homemade pizza, just tickled my heart. I've always wanted to make kale chips, but every recipe that I've come across requires a hydrator, but the book tells you how to make them in the oven. I've put together a very nice menu, and I am planning a nice, healthy luncheon for my friends, and from all that I've told them, they are anxiously (in a good way) looking forward to coming over. I just have to decide on a date to do this. But I like the play on words describing the chapters, something to make you smile, and I am more than satisfied with the recipes. I LOVE KALE, any way you prepare it, it's a pleasure to my palate--not to mention it's just sooooooo healthy. So, the million dollar question: Do I love the book? Answer: you bet your sweet petuny. Would I recommend the book? I say resoundingly--YES. I think it's a nice change from the ordinary, and when preparing and sharing with friends, a great conversation starter. You can set a rustic table with various napkins, utensils, casual chunk candles and plates, it can be a garden setting or indoors, whatever you decide, I think it's very inspiring to do something special for the enjoyment of a healthy meal--at least that's how I feel when I go through my "Fifty Shades of Kale" cookbook.

I have a lot of Kale and this book has a lot of recipes!
Here in mid-October, my Kale is still growing strong, and I'll have Kale for at least another month, I think. So I was very happy to have this recipe book. There are a lot of ways to cook/prepare kale, and I will use many of them as the weeks progress. (Kale omelettes are amazing and this book has a great recipe for one!)My sole complaint with the book (which knocked off my 5th star) is that there is a subtle "preachiness" about it in that it specifies "grass fed" "free range" etc, and I have to tell ya - there isn't a lot of difference in those monickers and standard ingredients - other than the price. Having the labels in the recipes may keep some less experienced cooks from trying kale due to cost, and that would be such a shame, as it is so good and so good for you.My advice - if it says "grass fed beef" - use whatever beef you can get, same with eggs, chicken and all other ingredients. If you're happy with the food you buy, you will be happy with what this book helps you make it into.

Go Kale!
Way before I knew anything about the nutrients packed within, I always felt better after eating Kale and when I ate Kale regularly. Now that it's popular I love that there are so many recipes coming out - I had maybe one or two ways to use it until the past year. This book is great because it also incorporates the whole food/local food movement, which also is a key to better nutrition and gastro health. It feels great to not feel guilty for eating a steak every now and again!Aside from the mussels recipe (bad food poisoning experience) all of them are great. A few are rather simple but I think it's about combining things in the right proportion (which I'm terrible at eyeballing.) I'm hoping to get the hang of these recipes and then move on to my own creations. Which may or may not be a good thing for my family but whatever.Don't forget - get your kale locally, and pesticide-free. Organic would be best but sometimes regulations are such the farmers don't/can't get that official designation especially if they are small operations. Green leafy veggies soak up the chemicals...

Lots of good stuff
I ordered this book for my wife because she was diagnosed with Macular Degeneration, a medical condition which usually affects older adults and results in a loss of vision in the center of the visual field. She takes a series of optical-enhancing vitamins and supplements to combat the disease. But her doctor recommended she increase her intake of kale, a vegetable high in beta carotene, vitamin K, vitamin C, and lutein. Although she already takes a lutein capsule, she started a very aggressive dietary supplementary program centered around Kale. She puts it in everything, and I do mean everything, which includes my food. It gets a little tedious sometimes having that green stuff staring back from my pizza, but the effects have been amazing. So why review this book? Why recommend it? Because 50 Shades of Kale takes a boring vegetable and brings it to life. Not only does this book show you creative ways to use Kale in your daily diet, it emphasizes the value of a balanced diet. Buy it. Read it. Implement it.Jim[...]

Great book!
I'm a female bodybuilder (all natural) and diet is everything. I like getting kale into my diet and ran across this book, bought myself a copy, and absolutely love it! I haven't had it very long but the few recipes I've tried are very good, and I look forward to trying more! The photos in this book are amazing and the REALLY nice thing is that the authors include basic nutritional information with each recipe!! This is AWESOME because, as a bodybuilder, I need to count every gram of fat, carbohydrate, and protein to be successful. Also, as a bodybuilder, diet can get rather boring to say the least, this book is amazing for helping eliminate that "boring factor"......my favorite recipe so far was the Tropical Kiss Kale Chips. Heck, I made some for my personal trainer, who loved them too, they taste like a Mounds candy bar! If you're on the fence with this purchase, just get it. It makes an great gift too.

Kale
Have been eating and using a lot of Kale recently because of its nutritional and health benefits, so thought this would be a good book to put on my Kindle and expand my recipe uses of this vegetable.

Every day kale
The book came just when I was out of recipes for using kale. This book brings fresh, easy and healthy recipes to he hum drum routine. And wha I like the most is that you can put a new spin on the recipes once you master them, to make not 50 but hundreds of new recipes. I recommend it to all that are bored and need inspiration.
