BOSS Audio Systems Elite BE10D 10 Inch Car Subwoofer - 800 Watts Maximum Power, Dual 4 Ohm Voice Coil

First thing's first: this is an entry level 10" sub that has lots of potential, but it can let you down just as easily as it can impress you if you do not put it in a position to succeed.If you want to be disappointed, slap whatever broken-down, left-over amplifier you have collecting dust in the garage onto the back of a (poorly-built) custom enclosure which is sealed and was NOT built for this sub specifically. You will be underwhelmed quicker than you can say, "Wurst sub EVR! DNT BY!" (Bonus points for anyone that doesn't pay attention and hooks the voice coils up in serial instead of parallel!)If you would like to be impressed, take the time to either custom build a ported enclosure or find a pre-fab one that fits this particular sub's parameters, and power it with a decent amp capable of pushing at least 250w RMS at 2 ohm. That pretty much rules out any 2 channel amps unless they are special/fancy, but then again, why would you be 'wasting' one of those on a Boss subwoofer? (Rhetorical question BTW)This sub will sound good in a sealed enclosure, but it will take a lot more power than the 250w RMS I noted above. But if you have the right ported box for it, you can get away with feeding it only 250w RMS and have a danged good sounding 10" sub on your hands. (More watts RMS in the same scenario would obviously be even better.) Always hook it up to the amp in parallel with respects to the dual voice coils; I cannot imagine a scenario in which you would want to use this sub with its voice coils wired in serial to their power source.The bottom line: This is a Boss sub that costs less than $50, so it won't be hard to have it sound like crap on you. However, with just a little effort and time spent planning beforehand, you can also have a sub-$50 driver which sounds pretty darned good, considering the minuscule amount of money you spent to acquire it.UPDATE: It appears as though the printed manual that comes in the box with this sub has the wrong t/s params and enclosure specs. The best I can tell, they look like they are the specs for their 12" version of this sub (Elite DVC).Either way, the t/s params and enclosure specs for this sub (10" Elite DVC) on Boss' own website are correct, and _those_ are the ones you should use to guide your enclosure and amplifier choices.

These Subs hit super hard in a ported box! Just get a decent AMP and they won't let you down.... Just a little story. I had to give my sister a ride somewhere so I decided to turn on some music, I slowly turned the bass knob up and she said "you have subs in here?" I then slowly turned it up until about 80% Max Bass and she said "Wow! That sounds great!"... I promise, these Subs are actually worth purchasing. I bought 2 of then and they haven't let me down for quite some time! Planning on buying 2 more to move some more air!

For the price this speaker is actually pretty good. It's got some punch

My MTX subwoofer was 8 years old and I felt like it was getting a little muddy sounding. So I wanted to replace it. Looking for a 4ohm DVC sub I stumbled upon this boss sub. I said for $30 bucks give it a shot. Well I can say I’m happy I did. At first it did not sound as loud as my older but I gave it a chance to break in. It sound really good. I know if I spent $150-$200 on a better sub it would sound better but for $30 this sub sounds really good for the price. Let’s see how long it will last.I am powering this with alpine mono amp wired down to 2ohm so the subs getting 400watt rms.This is definitely a 5 star sub. For $30 you get good performance and for that price it can’t be beat.

If your looking for an inexpensive way to add some low end to your cats stereo you really cant go wrong. I thought the sound wouldn't be great but was pleasantly surpised.

I've got these 800 watt subs in my sealed box in the trunk of my Cadillac and they hit HARD. One important thing I learned though....subs take a little time to "break in".... not too long, maybe a half an hour or so. Don't start shaking your head with dissatisfaction right off the bat and start turning up that gain switch. Instead, WAIT. Play 5 or 6 different types of songs from your playlist. Be patient. Let them warm up and get different types of sounds going through them. You'll be surprised (the next morning especially) at how hard these hit. So far, so good.....

Bumps good paired with SSL 1500 have speakers wired down to 2 ohm and then wired in series to amp. Not blowing away anything especially your budget, but nice system.

Excellent sound quality, running one 10” boss with BOSS amp and BOSS double din stereo head unit. Awesome sound ,highly recommend BOSS audio

For an entry level sub it thumps pretty good.EDIT* Sub lasted 1 month. Not very good.
