Incredible Scissors!
I recently got into leatherworking, and needed a more more robust pair of shears. At a certain point, the standard, cheap, plastic-handled scissors just can't cut it anymore (pun intended).I began researching heavy duty scissors or shears, and consistently among reviews, Wiss W22W scissors were ranked exceedingly highly. If you want the takeaway, you can stop reading now, and just buy these scissors! As I mentioned, I bought these shears in order to cut leather, and they have excelled at that. I started with relatively light 2-3oz leather, which had already proven a challenge for my old scissors. These shears blazed through it as if it wasn't even there, so quickly that I almost cut my finger! Having passed my first test with flying colors, I stepped up the difficulty to several stacked layers of wool cloth, and again, the scissors went through it like a hot knife through butter. As a laugh, I decided to try to cut through a sheet of 8-9oz leather. For those of you that are unfamiliar, that's 3/16" of solid leather. And once again, these scissors barely slowed down. What's most impressive to me is that no matter where on the blade the material is, the scissors cut equally well. In many cheaper scissors, especially when cutting through tougher or thicker materials, the tips of the blades will bend or deflect, and fail to cut the material. These scissors are extremely thick, and even when cutting through the 8-9oz leather, there was no tip deflection. Absolutely incredible. Both blades of the shears are sharpened, and they're curved against each other in such a way that they cut extremely well. They're also adjustable via the pivot bolt, which is excellent for a long life. As the shears wear in, you can tighten them to take out any loosening. My overall takeaway and final thoughts: these are incredibly well-made, effective, and durable scissors, that will cut pretty much anything you want them to cut. For less than $40, there is not a better deal on the market.

Comically large cartoon scissors
Hilariously large scissors that I regretted purchasing as soon as I opened the box. But the time sensitive attic insulation project had to move forward, so I kept them despite their size and weight. I am so so glad I didnโt return these scissors. They are perfect for cutting rolled insulation and made my project go so much quicker.I do wish the black on the handles held up better as it chips off easier. They clearly cheaped out there by not using japaning. The handles chip quickly but this doesnโt impact cutting.

Perfect affordable tailors scissors
They are HUGE but that is exactly what I wanted. I do a lot of tailoring and sewing and they are perfect for that. I can make long cuts (finally not jagged!!) and it works on any fabric. I got sick of my fabric scissors that hurt my wrists more because I felt like there wasn't much leverage. I'm a woman with very weak arm strength and I can still manage, but I think it's really up to personal preference as to what you want in your scissors. If you do mainly quilting, don't get these. A rotary cutter will be much better for that. I loosened the nut a little bit also.

Great for Trimming Carpet Pad
I got this to cut up carpet pad I was pulling up during a remodel. The carpet itself is easy to cut with a knife, but the pad has too much flex. These shears are easy to use on the floor to cut strips of the pad after the carpet comes up. I lay the strips out on a folding table, then use the shears again to cut the strips into manageable sized squares that can be boxed or bagged for disposal. I've tried power rotary cutters, metal shears, and several sizes of knife, and this is best suited for the job.

Really BIG for small hands
I was excited to get these as I do some occasional leather work and ordinary scissors donโt cut it. (Yes, pun intended). However, these puppies are 12 inches long, and yes, the description says that. You just donโt realize how long 12 inches is until you hold these. Very heavy and my hands just couldnโt use them. I am female with medium sized hands and I thought they would be ok, but not. No leverage. I couldnโt open them wide enough to actually use them. Too bad as I really like this brand. It was like using a pair of garden shears and I would have needed to use both hands. Sadly, I returned them for a similar product of 9 inches. All better now. Bottom line: bigger hands are better.

Holy c***!
In a world where just buying something that isn't "cheap plastic garbage" is getting harder, these were quite the pleasant surprise. Large, heavy, ruthlessly sharp. If you can cut whatever it is you are trying to cut with these scissors, you probably need to move on to power tools.Just... dang! They're awesome.I've got big-ish hands, and I can fit four fingers without too much trouble. They make mincemeat of heavy cardboard all the way to the tips. They are MUCH bigger than I thought they would be... the 10" is not overall. It is just the blades. But, hey, I'm happy with that result.Get some. You need these in your kitchen drawer. You know, for cutting up boxes, fighting giant ogres, and of course, for your wife to shear fabric.

Good Scissors
I bought these for making acoustic treatment panels. It cut the fabric very well as expected. Very sharp. Can be intimidating to others.I also used it to cut the Tontine Acousticsorb 3 insulation 75mm thick. It couldn't cut through the whole sheet of insulation, but was able to cut it in layers with multiple passes, making about 3 passes to cut through the whole thing. Pretty good considering how hard it is to cut this stuff. The blades are quite thick and strong so you can really put some weight into cutting stuff if you need to. However, the handles are just painted metal so maybe opt for the soft handled ones if you want something a bit easier on the hands.

Didn't cut a straight line
For a well reviewed pair of shears, I was surprised that they were bent right at the end of the blades, resulting in a curved, not a straight cut. They have been returned and another set is on the way. Hopefully they don't have the same issue.

Bloody great shears for serious cutting.
Do you have a lot of stuff to cut and dollar store scissors just won't do? Well, these are the opposite of dollar store scissors. They'll cost you more, but the first time you use them you'll know where your money is going.Plus, you can get these sharpened, so they're also possibly the last pair of scissors you'll ever buy.
