I got this because I always forget to renew my fire extinguishers. This is awesome because it’s user friendly and fast acting. It also comes with gloves to handle the blanket and little hooks so you can hang the bags with the blankets in them. I feel like this is a great house warming gift and absolutely worth the money.

I have wanted to put fire blankets in the home for sometime now. I have a couple extinguishers in the home already, but I have seen a lot about these blankets online and various media platforms. Glad to have two.My review will be from a perspective of not having used the blankets for ann emergency, but from a perspective of be prepared for one.Both blankets come in high quality plastic bags. They are designed beautifully. There are two black Velcro straps attached to the blanket that stick out of the bottom on the bag. It allows you for quickly remove the blanket from the bag during the emergency. You simply open the velcro strip and pull the blanket out by the black straps. There are also very simple instructions on the backside of the bag to follow during an emergency when you might not be thinking clearly.It is a decent size blanket. You can see the size of the blanket in the picture where I laid it on the oven. It folds up very nicely back into the bag and easy to store.The fibers of this blanket are pretty tight and the material is durable. The weave is similar to a tarp, but heavier. You can see this in the second picture. If you touch the seam of the blanket, NOTE: it has prickly feel so you want be careful with little hands. Almost like a fiberglass agitation. Not the whole blanket just the seam.Comes with two sticky hooks for you to mount the blankets. We mounted one on the inside of our kitchen cabinet next to the oven and one right outside the garage door for when we do outside grill cookouts.The gloves do not seem necessary as you probably would not think to put those on in the middle of an emergency. Plus, they do not seem very durable/fireproof.I hope I never have to use these, but they are fabulous to have on hand!

The good thing is that the packaging includes 2 largish blankets which is a big plus. The issue that I encountered is that upon review , I noted it includes fiberglass in its construction - so caution for those who may be allergic to it and another note is that don't open them unless you plan on using them then and there. Makes a good safety tool to have in the house/kitchen. Another bonus is that unlike a fire extinguisher, they don't require frequent inspections or replacement. They very well could be lifesavers in the right circumstances.
