Swiss Arabian Shaghaf Oud Royale Limited Edition 75ml

Not very oudy, but rewind to 1985 to find a bar of men’s soap for an educated, powerful and high ranking man and you know what this is. Longevity and sillage are good. It’s for 35+, only a touch of sweetness, imagine melted butter on woods with a very tiny touch of florals. For somewhat powerful but understated people. Not a crowd pleaser and won’t appeal to most women but won’t be unpleasant to them either - this is a scent a man wears for himself. I was expecting a much more earthy patchouli type scent which has the smell of damp soil and yet this is nothing like that. It’s very well blended.

This is my first Arabian scent and first Oud scent. This smell is quite sweet but has masculine undertones. Beware of its power though - stains noses as well as clothes! I wore a white shirt for a night out. The next day, there were yellow patches all over my shirt (I should have tested it out before). But this fragrance stains quite bad if I’m honest. I managed to get the stains out to a 97% clearance. Maybe wash clothes immediately after you’ve finished wearing it to prevent stains. In future, I’m going to have to wear this fragrance on black or extremely dark clothes. Hence why I’m giving it 4/5 stars as other fragrances (Dior, Emporio, JPG, etc) have never left a stained on any of my clothes. So be weary.

It starts of very spicy, dark and woody. But then after a while when it dries down, it becomes much more sweet and smells like a delicious vanilla dessert with the woody scents going in the background. Amazing!

The smell was just like an oud air freshner and disappeared in seconds.

Unisex amaderado, inicia con algo acerezado y luego notas atalcadas, permanece el oud como base, algo de incienso… muy rico olor. Fino. Similar al Paco Rabanne Major Me. Muy durable el aroma. Más de 8 horas y rico cuando la piel se humedece con algo de lluvia.

Shaghaf Oud de Swiss Arabian me ha sorprendido gratamente. Es un perfume intenso, cálido y envolvente, con una mezcla perfecta de dulzura y profundidad. La nota de oud está presente pero muy bien equilibrada con el praliné y la vainilla, lo que lo hace exótico pero sin ser demasiado agresivo. Lo mejor es su durabilidad: me lo aplico por la mañana y sigue proyectando hasta la noche. La estela es potente, así que con un par de sprays es más que suficiente. El frasco dorado también le da un toque de lujo que llama la atención. Por el precio que tiene, es una auténtica ganga si te gustan los perfumes orientales con carácter. Sin duda, repetiré.

Ein edler, warmer Duft mit einer mediterranen Note – erinnert an Sonne, Meer und Luxus. Hält lange und wirkt sehr elegant. Einfach traumhaft!
