Brilliant product!! We have a wider than normal staircase and it is not straight so putting a normal baby gate was not working and stressing me out having an open staircase with my toddler around. This product was so easy to install and very secure, fits my stairs and is not in the way like an ordinary baby gate. It also looks good. Very impressed with this product and I highly recommend it! I have ordered another to go over my sliding door in the lounge so I can have it open without my little one wondering outside

Bought this to stop a young Cavapoo puppy going upstairs and causing mayhem whilst we're still renting. Was initially sceptical about how well the adhesive would hold up between a clumsy 8 year old and a puppy but it's been fantastic so far. The plastic hooks and holder are both really sturdy and look up to taking a bit of a beating assuming the puppy doesn't chew on them. It's survived the puppies initial tantrums once she realised it's now blocked off and seems to be adhesing very well to the wall despite jumping on it. Fitment is really good as well and you can roll it out to the desired length for your door/stairs which is great. Looks really smart when not in use and rolled up and even allows you to detach the roll from the wall fixings if you want to take it off. The lock seems to work as well but we've not really had much use for it since this was mainly to stop the pup escaping upstairs. Overall it's performed really well and were very happy. It's a bit pricier than some alternatives but honestly it's brilliant for the money when you see how well it holds together and adheres to the wall if you don't want to permanently damage your walls with screws. Overall would recommend, just take your time fitting the hooks as I slightly misaligned one and it took some paint of the wall when trying to remove to realign it. Thankfully we were able to cover it completely with the realigned hook so no harm done.

⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ 4/5 This gate is genuinely a great bit of kit. It’s easy to install, looks tidy, operates quietly, and the retractable design means it’s not constantly in the way when you don’t need it. The one-handed operation is particularly handy when you’re carrying shopping, a cup of tea, or desperately trying to stop a dog from reaching whatever chaos he’s just spotted. Unfortunately, my review comes with a disclaimer: the manufacturers clearly didn’t test it against Blue, my 54kg rescue Cane Corso cross Staffy, who approaches obstacles with all the subtlety of a wrecking ball. For normal dogs, puppies, and children, I imagine this gate is absolutely perfect. For Blue, it appeared to be less of a barrier and more of a personal challenge. After a particularly enthusiastic zoomies session, the gate eventually met its demise. To be clear, this isn’t a criticism of the product. The gate did exactly what it was designed to do. The problem is that Blue wasn’t designed by the same engineers and seems to operate according to the laws of chaos rather than physics. Overall, it’s a well-made, practical gate that I’d happily recommend. Just bear in mind that if your dog weighs 54kg and can hit motorway speeds indoors, you may need something reinforced with steel beams and planning permission. Would buy again for a normal dog. Unfortunately, I own Blue.

Really pleased with this gate. It was straightforward to install, feels secure once fitted and does exactly what we needed it to do. I particularly like that the retractable design keeps things looking much tidier than a bulky fixed gate when it’s not in use. The locking mechanism feels solid and smooth to operate one-handed, which makes a difference when you’re carrying things at the same time. Good quality overall and great for keeping areas safely separated without permanently blocking the space. Was competitively priced compared to other brands.

Gates are fairly easily to install (adhesive method) and seem fairly secure (though my son is currently only 11 months old and the gates have only been up, for a couple of days). I feel the gates are great for standardised door frames/skirting boards and newer build homes. If your skirting boards are higher than average or your flooring is not 100% horizontal (1900s, tenement style flat, nothing is 100% horizontal…) you may not get as user friendly an outcome (gates not installed 100% horizontally, means mesh ‘door’ will not be fully taut/as strong as it could be, when closed, and thicker than average door frames/skirting boards make it trickier to hook the ‘door’ back on, again, with one hand/on first try). It still seems a good quality worthwhile product, to me, particularly as it has the option for screw free installation but doesn’t have the trip hazard that pressure fix gates usually do, with the permanent bottom bar.

Do not purchase this! Brought this installed correctly according to instructions from the manual using the adhesive attachments. My son touched the gate and has fell through it less than 12 hours after installation. I’d rate zero but it doesn’t let me!

Easy to use we loved it so much we got 2 more. We love the fact it’s retractable so it’s not in the way when it’s not in use. It’s got 2 different way to fix it to the wall you can just stick it on with the adhesive bits or screw it in.

Doesn’t need to be screw attached. Fits well and easy to remove if you need door width!

We bought this retractable gate to keep the dogs from coming upstairs when we are not home. We waited a week before writing a review to get a good handle on how this suited our needs. The materials are of a sturdy nature and we decided to use the adhesive back instead if drilling holes in our timber stairs. I can say that the adhesive backing has held up very well so far even as one of our pups managed to break thru to upstairs. (more later....) The instructions were easy and very clear and I had the gate installed in a matter of minutes. As you can see from the pictures when the gate is retracted it is very unobtrusive and very compact as it sits on the wall/stairs. We did forget to lock the gate for the first few nights and we had one break thru but since now locking the gate the dogs can't get thru and they have given up trying now. Overall this is a high quality retractable gate that fits our needs perfectly and we can highly recommend for keeping doggies away from areas off limits. One of the main reasons for buying this particular gate is the option to use adhesive backing instead of drilling, and can say we made the right choice.

very good quality - I am using the no-drill method and so far so good... the instructions are useless you just have to use your own head. this actually made the sticking on part very frustrating for me but i figured it out. my cat has tried to squeeze underneath the gate but hasn't succeeded (yet). makes for a great barrier when coming in the front door to avoid my door-dasher cat escaping. very happy!
