I love these cardstock models. Have purchased a dozen+.
I haven't quite finished this particular model but finding it's just as good as the others i've built. I've built 3 other of these cardstock models and have at least a half dozen+ in my stash because i like them so much. There appear to be two predominant brands, 4D Build and 4D CityScape. They're very similar in design but the 4D Build kits have the piece numbers printed on each piece whereas the one 4D CityScape I built didn't have the part number printed on each piece so once it's punched out, there's no way to tell what the piece number is. All the kits i've done are star wars themed and come out looking very very good. The kits are pretty straight forward but will likely need adult assistance for kids under 15-ish. If you can put together Ikea type furniture, these should be doable for you, but if you can't assemble ikea furniture, these may not be for you. Special tools aren't required but can help significantly with assembly and having a better finished product. Special tools range from long tweezers, fine scissors, nippers, razor knife, etc. Toothpicks come in handy if you're using the glue. I found that Elmers glue works as well. Most of them come with a small tube of glue, but I've found that none of them really needed any glue assuming it's going to be a static model that's not played with. If it's going to be played with, glueing on some pieces would be recommended. Heavy play is probably not recommended or it will eventually get beat up, crushed, torn, wrinkled, although it is a very sturdy model when finished. I've found this Tie Fighter is probably the easiest I've done so far and would be a good starter kit especially since it's one of the cheaper kits. The R2D2 model was slightly more complicated but builds into a fine looking replica about 12" high and was fairly priced at $20. I've been significantly impressed with each kit that I've built regarding how well they were designed/engineered for strength, assembly, and an impressive finished product. Very fun. Can even be therapeutic with punching out all the pieces. Highly recommended.

ABSOLUTELY YES!! Worth every penny!!
FANTASTIC Model!! Loved everything about this!! JUST BE CAREFUL with the shiny pieces as your fingernail can leave a permanent indent on the surface of the piece. That said this was a JOY to build and it is worth every penny! Just wish they connected to the platform. They are free standing on the platform which makes them not sturdy (more 3PO than R2). Thank you 4D Build, please please come out with more from Star Wars. So far I have done ALL of them!! Maybe a "Droidika" or AT-ST (already did your AT-AT which was awesome) or a Pod Racer, or with that shiny metalic material used for R2 in this one how about a NABOO Royal Starship or even better the original "BLOCKADE RUNNER!!!" (with lights of course)

Great quality and great price
it looks amazing and the instructions are easy to follow, it comes with glue and a tool to take out the little pieces but i found more useful to use a clip. The engines are really tricky to assemble so be careful in that part. It was really fun and it took me around 7 hours to assemble it by myself

Bigger and Higher Quality than I Expected
I'd previously purchased the 4D Build model for R2-D2 and was very impressed with the finished results, so I wanted to give this one a try too. I had a lot of fun putting this together and couldn't be happier with the finished model. This thing is BIG...over two feet long...and it has very good detail. It's light enough to easily hang it from the ceiling. I thought that the assembly process of this model was a bit easier and faster than the R2-D2 one despite the larger number of parts (fewer curves simplify assembly). There are a few things worth noting. I did come across 3 or 4 steps where it seemed like either the instructions were ambiguous or one of the pieces had incorrectly sized tabs or holes. Think carefully about the assembly process as you go to avoid problems. They provide a cardboard tool to punch out the slot holes on all the pieces...it is too flimsy and will eventually become unusable. You will want to have some other plastic or metal tool to use instead. I used a set of metal tweezers, and I've seen others mention that a paperclip works well. They provide a small tube of glue to secure pieces though I didn't find it to be strictly necessary to get a good result. The model will hold together reasonably well without it. I would not recommend gluing anything until you've finished an assembly in case you realize a piece needs to be repositioned. I actually held off on extensive gluing until the entire model was complete.

Fun build
This was a great value. The finished project is much larger than expected. It looks great on display and was relaxing to build not frustrating. The detail on it was great. My 13 year old enjoyed this very much but so would an adult.

Collectable
This is a great product for someone who is collecting Star Wars. It is detailed and functional as an addition to any collectors series. I would buy this again just because it can be a collectable. It arrived quick and timely already put together so no time consuming product.

Awesome model/puzzle!
I love these models or puzzles. Built almost all the ships from another company on Amazon and loved each of them (see my reviews there). When those are completed and displayed they appear as real wood models and others have said as such. This model was great as well and especially for the price. I saved a few dollars on a warehouse deal and it came intact save possibly internal packaging. As with many of these models the description says, "no glue needed." For my ships that was the case, i cant recall if this said the same however it did come with a small bottle of glue with suggestions for use as well as possibly the need for fast drying other glue. I used a common gel super glue. Dont be afraid to use it to help secure a piece that may not be as snug. Also, dont be afraid to trim off a tab when necessary and glue a piece down. Sometimes on larger pieces and curved ones, pieces require many tabs to be inserted and this can get tricky. Trimming certain tabs wont affect the end result of looks. Also, be mindful of which side is what by looking at the pictures in the directions, which are great, and by also seeing which way a piece bends by the pre-scored/creased pieces. As for my kids. A 9 year old can do his puzzle with help. The "fidgityness" of some installation is a bit diffferent than building block models. However, with a little instruction and encouragement, my kid was proud of the model and had a sense of accomplishment with a fairly challenging task. I'm going to pick up more of these models to do and would certainly consider them great bday presents. Edit: since writing my review of the mf, i have purchased the star destroyer and x wing. Both awesome. I am attaching pictures of the subsequent models purchased to this review. What really is great is these seem like high quality wood or plastic models from any distance. Truly a great value. 13 bucks for the x wing? Crazy. Ran out of super glue and it was 7 bucks at the grocery store. Protip, get those on here too...
