As an iranian I really enjoyed the recipes
As an iranian I really enjoyed the recipes, but I just find that cinnamon is added a bit too generously - Of course this depends on personal taste and area of Iran you are from, but otherwise I really enjoy the recipes and it really hits home

disappointing
This book has amazing photos but the recipes are homespun. Neither authentic nor particularly different from common and garden fusion recipes you can find on the internet for free.

Lost and found
I've been looking for a good, simple Persian cookbook for some time now, and finally, this one jumped into my cart. I'm a happy camper in my kitchen now! Most of the ingredients are quite easy to find and common standard (if you happen to have an oriental shop nearby, like I do), full of aroma and an easy means to impress friends when cooking for a crowd. Most of these recipes are taken out of Najmieh's primary book "Food of life", but modified to an extent that nobody needs the excuse to not have time for some decent cooking. Most of these dishes can be prepared ahead; some don't require more than an hour. In a time when everything is supposed to be faster, quicker, better, this is a well-deserved rest.

This has been the most used cookbook in our house over the past year and i have gifted it to 2 friends as well. Persian food is so delicious and pretty healthy. There are a lot of versions of classic Persian dishes but simplified and updated, as well as redone as vegetarian/vegan (or providing for vegetarian option). I've probably cooked almost all the recipes by this point (except the few desserts), and most do not require any substantial cooking skills, are easy to follow and well explained. You would need some ingredients that most stores do not carry (i.e. barberries, sumac, etc), but i have been able to find almost everything needed between whole foods and amazon. The pictures accompanying each recipe are also beautiful (and i have been able to replicate the look of most). There are a lot of healthy salads, a few egg recipes, a few meatballs, a few kebabs, 3 or 4 fish and then several versions of the famous Persian rice plus curries. It's has some good options for weeknight cooking (you might have to do some prep the day before). Would highly recommend
