Exactly What I Needed!
Easy to put together in a couple minutes. It rolls smoothly with and without weight and the wheels are very quiet as well. It is a little tall at the lowest setting (about 14.5 inches high from floor to bottom base of chair) compared to the original for my chair, but it is not an issue for me personally. It takes a little bit of effort to recline but that could be due to the new-ness of the product. I wish it was a little more cost effective, however, it is exactly what I needed and totally worth it so I donโt have to spend time struggling to find a new chair! It seems sturdy and is working well so far!

Not good. Poorly welded.
The bosses the casters mount into are welded at an angle. This causes the casters to point outward. They will not turn at all and just bind. I used the cylinder and the seat plate and threw out the 5 legged base.

Good
If you have chair that you like and want to keep using. Perfect to replace broken bottom part of wheels and base.

Sturdy Frame, non-functional wheels.
The wheels are incredibly cheap plastic that struggle to move the chair with 0 weight on it, let alone when anyone sits on the chair. The metal base overall seems to be good quality though, just be prepared to have to buy replacement wheels.

Retro-Fitted to Antique Wooden Chair
I used this to replace the base on a well-worn and chewed-up antique wooden "banker's chair." The installation was easy, but specific applications may require customization. I had to add a piece of plywood as a spacer. The chair is very functional, rolls well, and adjusts easily. It was a much better value than replacing the chair. Adjustable height is beneficial for people of various heights in our house. The reclining function is much quieter than the old, rusty spring and is easily adjustable.

Good quality, but the wheels are not the best.
Bought it as a replacement for my Razer Chair and works very well so far. Good metal, and fits perfectly. Plus, can make the chair taller than it used to be which is very nice. However, the wheels are suspicious and do not move smoothly, I have a feeling they're gonna break eventually. So they're not very sturdy. But for the rest, it is very strong, can lean it back with no issue and well balanced.

Total junk, don't waste your time or money, doesn't roll
Wasted an hour of my life. The base is junk. See the video. Three different pairs of wheels/castors which all roll around perfectly in my old chair base (but the gas lift in it has failed, hence the replacement) don't roll at all in this new base. Tightened up the chrome legs good and tight but didn't help. Also: the gas lift cartridge seems to just sit in the top and bottom bracket by gravity. Now I've got to disassemble the whole thing, repackage it, drive it to a drop off center for a refund, and reassemble my old base with the bad gas lift. Then I'll do this all over again when I get a new base that actually works.

Let me stop you right there....literally
I got this today and looked forward to repairing my chair with a broken plate. It was pretty easy to assemble, but the wheels gave me a lot of trouble to put in, l think I may have even dented the metal when I tried putting the wheels/casters in...oops Now that's no problem, everything else was smooth....except for one very important thing. MOVING. THE. WHEELS. It's impossible. If I try rolling my chair, even without me sitting on it, it just barely moves. It got my hopes up a few times when it moved semi-smoothly on a few wheels...and then went back to being horrible. I do not know what is wrong with the base that might be stopping the wheels. I REALLY wish I had seen the review about the wheels not moving well earlier. Stop yourself from getting this, before it stops you from moving around your desk!
