Inexpensive, budget wheel that works!
This inexpensive wheel is not going to have the quality materials of a $1000 pottery wheel. Everything is made of thinner and lighter material. BUT for the price it is an amazing value. The folks, who designed this wheel, were able to pull together a well-functioning wheel with modest materials. In short, it works and seems to work quite well. I've not had it long enough to speak to its durability. The wheel is low, so you will need to raise it about 8 inches, depending on your preferences. I started out with a pair of concrete blocks, which seemed to be about right for me. But because I needed to move the wheel about from time to time, I built a small lightweight base out of scrap wood. The wheel has more power than I expected. I've centered 3 lbs of clay with ease and the motor did not slow. Something to consider is that the overall weight of the wheel is around 25 lbs. So, if you are going to lean in for centering larger pieces, you may want to place the wheel against a wall or something heavy so that it does not move. The foot control is very responsive. I can slow it down to a crawl. The high end speed seems about right for centering. All in all, it was an excellent buy.2024 UPDATE: The speed control has become very difficult to adjust at the lower speeds. When trying to increase the speed just a little, it speeds up rapidly and has destroyed a couple of pieces that I was throwing. I suspect it is the foot pedal. I checked inside and found that it uses plastic gears and I suspect that it now has some play in the speed adjustment. Bummer.

Wonderful Value for the Price
This is a great beginner wheel. It’s very short so I made a stand for it to lift it up about 10 inches. I prefer to throw sitting down but you could put this on a table and throw standing up. I have only thrown about 2 pounds but that’s enough for a mug or small vase so it’s a great place to start. I love the black handled trimming tools which really add value to this wheel. The splash pan is a little flimsy and I’m not sure how long it will last but so far it comes off easy for cleaning. I love that the wheel head is slightly bigger than most beginning wheels. It doesn’t have bat pin holes so you have to throw directly on the wheel. Overall this is a great value for the beginner potter to get in some practice

So far, a good beginner wheel, with a few quirks
The media could not be loaded. UPDATE, 12/2/22: I have since learned how to snap the splatter tray into place. As another reviewer said, it takes quite a bit of effort. However, when snapped into place, it's much more sturdy, enough to where I can rest my arms on the edge while throwing, which is nice when I need more stability. After discovering this bonus, I will continue to do this when I have a lot of pieces to throw.ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have been taking a pottery class at the local art center, and wanted to be able to throw at home to make my class time more productive. Like most students, I wasn't ready to invest $700-$1500+ in a professional wheel, so I began exploring other options. I chose this wheel because of the larger wheel size and the more powerful motor, as well as the adjustable legs and reversible motor (I am a lefty). The wheel comes in at 13.5 inches, not the stated 14". No bat pins (though I knew this going in). I will be adding bat pins in the near future. I don't really like the feeling of the grooves of the wheel when my hands make contact with it. It feels abrasive, like a friction burn, if I keep contact longer than a few seconds, and I prefer bats, so this was really an upgrade I was expecting to make, anyway.I was able to adjust the leg height using a vice grip, but it wasn't effortless to get the pins out or back in the new position. The adjustment only gave me about 3+ extra inches of height, which still makes it necessary to purchase concrete blocks to get a good working height (so if the adjustable legs are the reason driving your purchase, this feature won't matter much in the end).I have not figured out how to make the splash tray snap together while on the wheel, though it does go together when it's off the wheel. I have used painter's tape to keep the gaps closed, and to be honest, I would rather do this than try to figure out how it goes together, since it kind of works for me. It takes only a few seconds to tape, and I don't have to struggle with the splash tray while removing or replacing.Even with the more powerful motor, the wheel doesn't spin as fast as the professional wheels I learned on, but definitely fast enough so I can throw anything I want effectively. I don't throw large heavy items, but this wheel has no trouble handling 3 lbs of clay, which is the largest thing I've thrown on it, and it probably can take much more. I don't know how the larger motor compares to the smaller one in the Vevor line. The unit has a cover on the bottom of the wheel table base, whereas many of these similar units are open on the bottom, which adds a layer of protection to the underside, protecting the inner workings.Overall, I'm very satisfied, but I did feel most let down by the minimal adjustibility of the legs. I will update my review if anything changes.

WORST PRODUCT I'VE EVER BOUGHT. Tried 2 types from same company
The media could not be loaded. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I have tried two different style wheels from the same company, both have been completely useless. They shake too much to be functional and speed control sucks, they always come with sharp bits of metal or plastic sticking out places and it's obvious cheap they are. You can hear and see the wobbling in the video. The one they sent me was already used (meaning returned as well) and had scars on the wheel and the tray was warped and didn't fit together.

Worried about the motor vs clay weight...
Love the 14" bat, my last wheel was 12" and this looks double the size. It's also one of the quietest wheels I've ever owned. The adjustable height won me over. I'm 6 foot and being hunched over or losing stability in the base to build it up is something you don't have to worry about... as much. Heavy solid build, heavy at 25lbs, with padded feet keep it where it needs to be when I'm pulling or coning. My last couple of wheels have burned out because as I improve, I throw more and more clay. The most I've thrown is 15lbs, 25" vase and I guarantee i stole months of its lifespan and it was only delivered 3 days ago. The larger bat plus the clay creates centripetal torque that the Chinese 3rd party motor can't hardly handle, so keep that in mind. It's deep basin is amazing and an ease to clean, and keeps you from mopping every throw! Still a great but from someone who needs a $1500 wheel and can't afford it. I've owned 3 wheels that where under $200 and this is the best yet.
