Continues to be reliable and durable.
Been using this for years now. Made for Van / Truck, but put it into my FORD Escape. Wanted to be sure what I put in was durable enough to last, and this product does. Only complaint I have is the side to side tilt would slip, but fixed that with a piece of coarse paper between the shaft and the clamp. Built truck tough and works well in the car.

This mount is a quick and easy install, what takes a little time is adjusting it to your vehicle and to suit your personal needs. I could not access my seat track bolt, so I used the adapter to mount it on the end of the seat rail as suggested. It took @ 15 min. to get the base attached good and tight and who knows how long to move and adjust the whole thing to where I wanted it. This mount is quite flexible as to where you can place it. I was surprised that as stout as it's made that it still bounced a little bit when the car was moving but I haven't seen one yet that doesn't. I bought the optional brace but haven't decided yet if I'm going to use it. What I did do is adjust the mount where the last elbow rests on top of the center console and put a small piece of foam under it so as not to allow any wear. VERY stable now!I love the way the bottom and side retainers adjust to keep the computer in place; I can assure you it's not going anywhere. There is an option of buying additional fixtures to hold your screen in place but my HP notebook doesn't need it. THE ABSOLUTE BEST PART is how quickly I can remove the entire mount with one release lever and in one piece without disturbing the position I set it in. Monday morning I can put it back, in literally 10 seconds and I'm ready to go. Worth your money!

The product is ok, their support is unresponsive
Edit: On my most recent request for help, I found the email of someone who works there and added them to the request as well. That got me through to a live person and I'm taken care of now. Adjusting overall rating... not sure how well the experience for other people needing support will be though. The product, I got the larger one even though it was for Car use, was fine with two braces. Holds up well, and doesn't seem to go anywhere. Comes down easy enough. Just when you bring it down, make sure you don't lose anything. While it was in my trunk, one of the quick release bolts went missing, still not to be found. Going to their site and asking for that (as well as something else at some point when it was new) never brought about any response... I just want to buy a new bolt, is that something that needs to be difficult?Don't know much about them, but this is a more affordable stand option. Apparently with their support, you get what you pay for. Leaving at two stars for now since I can't use it until I determine what I'll do about the quick release bolt situation.

You get what you pay for
Pros:- Assembly was easy- That’s about itCons:- Flimsy as can be, construction is t very solid at all- The deck the laptop sits on has no locking mechanism for moving it side to side or tilting.- Taking a turn at anything more than a crawl will send this thing flying- The clamps for the laptop are broken (they won’t stay upright and just flop down so the laptop is not secure)You’re better off saving up and buying a higher quality product. This is cheap and won’t last.

Awesome mount for mobile computers!
This device is awesome! I put this on the passenger side of my Subaru Outback to use with my Acer Aspire One (Z5G). With a load of other items in the car as well, I can put the laptop where I need it and lock it down. If I need to move the computer, it is as easy as moving a couple of clamps and your done. The only thing I don't like about it is the options you have if you need to remove the computer. First option is to rove the pivot assembly for the platform which makes the laptop bulky. Second is to remove the four screws under the platform which is used to house the USB fan. If you loose any of those screws it is going to be difficult to replace them. I am planning on building a locking slide plate assembly which will make my particular mounting extremely user friendly.CAUTION: This system is very easy to remove quickly from your vehicle. If you plan to make it a permanent installation consider changing out a bunch of knob screws with security screws as well as changing out the clamp assemblies to nuts and bolts to make it harder to disassemble.NOTE: if you have a vibration issue I recommend getting the extension support.

Good if you your seat bolt is flat on the floor
I bought this because I travel as the passenger a lot and like to have my laptop accessible. I bought this so it would be easy to move out of the way when getting in an out of the car when we stopped and so the laptop could be higher than my lap which is better on my neck. You can't move this around easy like you could one of those flexible neck holders which is fine with me. The flexible neck move too much when you go over bumps anyway. This has claw type holder so once it is in place it isn't moving. There are a lot of little pieces to hold the laptop in place and while this might seem tedious I welcome it because I need my laptop to be secure. It might make it a little inconvenient to remove the laptop several times while stopping to eat on a road trip, but again this doesn't bother me. The most important feature is it not falling and staying secure. Here is why I gave the device only 3 stars. If your mount is horizontal or at an angle (as seen in photo 7) as opposed to vertical (as seen in photo 6) it will not hold. We have two vehicles, one where the mount sits at an angled and one where the mounts sits vertical. If you have to mount the holder at an angled or horizontally it can move like a windshiled wiper. It will stay tight for a little while, but the bumps in the road will soon wear the connection down and the put grooves in the metal and it will not hold anymore. This doesn't happen if the holder is mounted on a vertical mount, or at least not as fast.I have not called the company to see what suggestions they have to remedy this so I can't comment on whether there is a fix at this time. If there is a fix I'll definitely share it here, but out of the box this is how the product worked for me.
