Very Nice and Accurate Scanner Device - Worked on My Computer - Found My Ford Problem
Ordered this Smart Auto Switch FORScan OBD2 Adapter Ford F150 - OBD2 to USB ELM327 OBD2 Scanner to use on my Ford F-150 Truck. My truck has the 4.6L engine and overall runs and operates great as it only has 44K miles on it. But when driving and coming to a stop at red light with it in gear,I had a vibration like feeling from engine. I had ask several mechanics about it and got several different answers. So I went to my friend that is pretty good Ford guy and good mechanic. He said as picky as I am, I needed to get me a scanner to plug into my truck and it will help detect many problems and will save me big money over time. So I started shopping online for this type of scanner, looking and reading about their makes, designs, and what they will detect and ended up ordering this OBD2 scanner.I got my friend to help me get it set up and use for first time. This little device is amazing!. It actually showed I had a misfire on a cylinder. He advised all I needed was a set of plugs and would probably solve my vibration problem. I got a set of plugs, and installed them and the vibration quit immediately. This saved me hundreds of dollars just on my first use of this little device. I'm still learning how to use it and with my computer, but love this device. It helped fix my first vibration engine problems and saved me money, just on the first round. Works on my laptop with Windows XP -Happy with order

Seems to work, but complains about two of my vehicles not being recommended.
This OBD II reader seems to work and is able to run checks on all of my vehicles. I'm not a mechanic and just wanted it to check the occasional check engine codes I get.The included instruction sheet has a lot of poor grammar, and points to an older beta version of the FORScan software for download instead of the current version.I used the current version of the software (2.3.62-release) when testing. My computer is running Windows 11 home, and I already had the CH340 serial port driver installed. The vehicles I tested it with are: 1998 Ford Ranger, 2006 Ford Escape, and 2019 Mazda CX-5. On the Ranger it connected and had no issues. On the Escape and the CX-5 the software gave a notification that this reader is NOT recommended for those vehicles, but I was able to check the status of things and run the diagnostic tests anyway. In the end, it feels like a Chinese tool made to work with an established piece of software. I don't think the hardware itself has anything to do with the FORScan software, but either way, it works jut fine and will serve the purpose I got it for.

Thank you FORScan
What a beautiful device that allowed me to turn off the parental controls that the car came with. I bought the car from a used car lot and they only gave me one key with it. This had built-in parental control that required two keys to turn off. I only have one. With this tool, I was able to turn it off and go beyond 80mph, it would turn the radio off unless I had seatbelts, it's a terrible feature for adults that I had to deal with for months.

works fine with FORscan
I have been using FORScan, but I am not satisfied with its functionality. The good news is that I was able to utilize the connector with open-source software I discovered on GitHub. As a result, I was able to delve into issues more deeply compared to using FORScan.

Valuable tool to have for any car owner
Having the scanner and being able to look into your own fault codes is great. With the software on your computer you can also reprogram certain features on your car. Check out Youtube videos on how to do it. This is a great item to have if you like to do any work on your own cars. And if you dont, this can let you know whats wrong ahead of time before taking it to the shop.

great for my ford
This is an excellent device - together with the forscan software this lets you get not just basic codes, but also more advanced codes and repair routines. I was using this to debug some battery issues, and it let me both access and control extended battery diagnostics and checks not available via standard obd2 protocol. All of this with the free forscan software, I haven't tried the premium forscan software features yet, but looking forward to seeing what all features exist as I explore the forscan software. The software does give you a warning that this isn't a supported device, but thankfully the product page warns you about that, and it doesn't seem to affect the functionality.

Works, with a few glitches.
This does work with FOR SCAN there are a couple glitches when connecting. Easy work arounds for that. In fact, the instructions provided with the scanner in case that does happen explains how to get it to connect. Once in a while in a certain module, it will stall out or hang up and need to be restarted. I'm not sure if that's the computer, the FORSCAN software or this scanner. I give it 4 stars because it does work and works pretty good most the time.

Works well on Ford F150
As advertised, I figured I’d finally jump into the FORScan game and get rid of my annoying hyperblink. This unit was recognized by the FORScan software right away and connected flawlessly. In an Apple person so I had to borrow my spouses windows OS laptop but no issues. Does what it claims and the price is fair. Cable length is long enough to use in the drivers seat and center console area. I have a 3.5 EB 14 F-150 for the record.
