Amco8731 Two-in-one Citrus Squeezer, Aluminum, Gray

Again saw this on a Nigella cookery programme and bought it for my husband as a Christmas present. What can I say, it is great, so easy to use. I have always found limes difficult to juice using hand juicer and I am too lazy to get out the electric juicers for just a bit of juice to add to cooking. This one is very simple, you put in half a lemon or lime and just squeeze, hey presto job done. As I have problems with my grip I thought this would not be suitable for me, but very little pressure is required. The picture does not really show how strong the item is, it is metal and quite heavy/robust so I see this lasting years and years.

Weight of the squeezer surprised me as it is heavy metal. Yet to use but think its good quality

This has quickly climbed to the top of my most useful and most used kitchen "gadgets".It squeezes every last drop out with very little effort, it does limes and lemons of all sizes and the insert is always there, so there is nothing to loose. Since I do a lot of things with citrus, I use this frequently and love it every time. It even does a great job of those halves you already zested. Other methods can leave a bunch of mush in your hands when trying to squeeze those, but not this little gadget! And you require much less hand strength to get out every last drop of juice than so many of the others!I have been through my fair share of handy little things to juice lemons and limes, but none hold a candle to this thing!Initially I thought it was a little on the pricey side, but it is quite sturdy. No plastic parts, so there is hope that it will last for a long time!Update: I have now had it for 1.5 years.I still use it almost every day and I still love it! It appears to be holding up very well! I even put it through the dishwasher on occasion and so far it looks as good as new!Update 12-2012: It has now been over 2.5 years since I bought it, and we are still on that one! It is a very often used gadget in my household, yet it is holding up very well! It does have some minor signs of wear by now on the green insert part where the lime juice gets squeezed, but it IS minor and totally expected. Definitely still THE lemon squeezer for me! BTW, I put this in the top shelf of my dishwasher regularly too!
