Fun Light with Dimming Ability!
I bought two of these for the price and they are amazing! The colors are bright and fun! Fits a standard light socket. The "white" color while bright, is not as bright as a regular LED "white" light bulb. Some might be able to read by the "white" light on this colored bulb but for me it is too dim to do so. However, all colors are a perfect brightness to have on to find clothes or such, if someone is still sleeping without disturbing them. The Red, purple and pink colors are wonderful mood lighting colors and the other colors are just plain fun to be able to turn on. It has four settings so that the colors can remain solid, auto rotate through all the colors, slow fade and strobe. The dimming feature on the remote is nice as well with 4 brightness levels. This is definitely worth the price!

You ...light up my life.....er porch
I installed this light on my screened in back porch (12'x12') over a month ago. No issues. I had used a standard 60w white bulb before and it was just to bright for evening sitting and seemed to attract every flying insect the Michigan summer had to offer. Tried a few of those "party bulbs" in an array of different colors. (hit or miss, some to bright others not bright enough) This SUPERNIGHT E27/E26 Standard Screw Base 16 Colors Changing Dimmable 3W RGB LED Light Bulb with IR Remote Control for Home Decoration/Bar/Party/KTV Mood Ambiance Lighting hits the sweet spot for me. The light is plenty bright enough on full power (3 levels of brightness) to light my porch enough to see without walking into a table or chair. Numerous combinations to choose from. (everything from colors to modes) The remote is awesome. I would not hesitate to buy another and if your on the fence about this one rest assured it does what it says.UPDATE- 6-21-2017 Three years later this bulb is still working. I have never taken it off the porch. Survived 3 brutal Michigan winters so far. (I do bring the remote inside). I've crossed my fingers every spring when I go to turn it on (don't really use it in the winter) and so far its fired right up...every time.Update 12-24-18 Still going strong!Update 4-11-21 7 years later....... this bulb is still working!

Awesome light, but here's what to expect
For what it is and how much it costs, it's great. The "smooth" transition is mesmerizing. Many of the color settings are beautiful. It gives you a lot of dynamic options from just one light. I paired this with a white puzzle lamp and it looks pretty awesome. Here are some things to be aware of: If you turn this light off with anything other than the remote, it defaults to a the "flash" setting. Would be much nicer if it was something constant by default. There are a few ranges of colors that I would like it to have that you can't set it to. Notably, there's not much of an orange - it goes from a golden color to a very deep red. And finally, the white is a very stark, blueish white (as you typically get with LEDs) instead of a natural yellower light. At its brightest setting, this isn't bright enough to be used as a primary light, and works as a better backlight or nightlight at the dimmed settings. You can only use the dimming on static colors (so, not the color transitioning ones).

Very clever!
The first thing that struck me about this lightbulb is that it’s really quite clever. Its simplicity of design but variety in functionality is what makes this lightbulb brilliant. The bulb itself is small and rounded, just a bit larger than a golf ball. The most ideal use, in my opinion, would be with a shaded lamp in a small space. The remote is the size of a business card, although significantly thicker, and weighs as much as a penny. It operates on the three primary colors for light: Red, Green, and Blue, and offers a neutral, colorless setting as well however, I wouldn’t say you could use the colorless setting to read, even at its highest level of incandescence. Nevertheless, this lightbulb offers everything and then some if you’re thinking of entertaining or a romantic evening. There are two white buttons at the top left of the remote that control brightness, of which each color has four stages. These buttons also control the frequency of the four effects functions: flash, strobe, fade, and smooth. All four of these settings are programmed to cycle through all of the colors, so there isn’t any control over color scheme with the effects. Still, this is certainly no drawback as each setting delivers its own unique atmospherically altering experience. Wallet-friendly, user-friendly, and a quick way to add a lot of flavor to the color pallet of your home.

Nice light with some odd quirks
I use this lamp at night to have a low level of lighting when I'm coming home or watching TV, just enough to see what's around me or reach another light switch. The brightness and colors work well for that. The remote is a nice feature, and I suppose necessary to control the color you want displayed. So here is the main reason I'm only giving this 3/5 stars. The "Flash" setting, which is the default setting, cycles through every color at rate of about 2 colors per second, so it gives a kind of disco-ball feel. I suppose maybe this might be desirable at a party with other lighting effects going on, but when I'm relaxing at home it's overstimulating and distracting. Wouldn't be a big deal, except when I turn it off from my light switch and back on again, it goes right back to this default setting and I need to find the remote to change it to another. I've also found that if I leave it on for over a few hours, it goes back to disco-ball flash for no apparent reason. I've come home late a number of times to see flashing colors coming from my front window, and I think my neighbors must suspect I have very quiet parties almost every night.Another issue I've noticed is while the remote works fine (aside from the settings buttons on the right being written in black text over black background - really guys?) my TV remote I own ALSO controls the light. So every time I change the input on my TV or turn it off it turns the light on, off, or changes the settings.Overall a good light, but the programming and remote could be better.
