Its fairly good at filtration, a little more than the single layer masks available in the local medical store. However, there are some caveats- 1. There is a 'not so mild' smell of some chemical which lingers on for around an hour when first using a mask (each mask can be used for up to 8 hours). This may irritate people with sensitive noses,or allergies. 2. Gaseous fumes (like CNG fumes) which are prevalent in 'non polluting' roads like Delhi, do not seem to be adequately filtered. Similarly petrol fumes also come through. It is difficult to say whether it is an absolute fail or not, but it has to be better than nothing at all. EDIT AFTER 2 WEEKS OF USAGE- After 2 weeks of wearing it in peak traffic, I have made some changes in my review- 1. The initial smell of chemical can be reduced a lot by roughing up the mask before wearing it, and leaving it out of the box for a day. 2. Even though smells, and some fumes do come through, it does seem to have a good effect. The nasal discharges I used to feel when in peak traffic (which then continued for the rest of the day), has dramatically reduced. Though I can't say if it''s successful in filtering CNG fumes or other toxins, it does have an impact. And that is what matters. 3. When wearing it, I found it more effective if the mask is put on the nose and lips without pulling it over the chin (as the product image suggests). That is, it seems to be more effective if you do not stretch out the pleats (folds) on the mask. Leaving the folds as they are, seems to act like a dual layer, which is more effective. Its practical, after all, its my nose which needs the filtration, not my chin or neck. And as long as I am not breathing through my nose, I am fine. 4. I have worn it for up to 12 hours, and it seems to be effective for around 10-12 hours in reality, when the mentioned limit is 8 hours.

I have severe allergies and these masks really help A LOT. Nowadays I can't even go out without them on, because the difference is o huge. My allergies flare up without them, make my nose very runny and itch really badly, and makes it very hard to breathe. With these masks, instant relief!! And also, depending on the smell, it can filter out anywhere from 50-90% of it. It filters dust and pollution really well too!

Second Buy ...worth every paisa. Firstly Thankyou amazon for the timely delivery and pricing. I am a bike rider with an avearge of minimum 80 kms a day riding between navimumbai n mumbai city. after a lot of research, i came accross this mask on amazon, read t reviews and though of buying n trying them. My experience with the filtra carbon activated mask after riding around 128kms on one mask in one day, temperature usage around 29 to 34 degrees in n around mumbai city n highway use. humidity over 90 percent(as it also did rain at some places where i used it). Does it filter dirt? yes i does the way manufacturers claim. Does it filter odours while riding? yes to a large extend. i did get t usual petrol fumes, carbage truck stink ahead, heavy unburnt diesel from trucks n buses...but only for t first 1 second and the mask carbons pull off the bad odours....very effectively. size fits large head/face ppl.it does cover your nose and mouth very well. the elastic bands do come out at times if u pull hard, just use t staplepin. the elastic band did over the time gave me a skin burnt on the back of my leftear when i was constantly lowering the mask with helmet on,to speak at stops to find my way...i believe over time my soft skin will get use to it. i have found that its not that hot or sweaty on the face even in hot weather and high humidity. Verdict, highly recommend for riders to use on polluted highway and city . Cost effective even if one is used daily, hardly works out to rupees 4 a day, what is more important then your health ! i forgot to mention i use a open head/ chinless helmet. i have not tried it in a close faced helmet yet, but am sure it wornt be hot with this face mask inside.

1) They show blue mask. But we would receive gray. Since they claim "carbon" coating, they look very dark gray.Therefore we do not know after some use if they got polluted or not (as they still look dark gray). 2) They mask is heavy. They are uncomfortable on face if you are using a full-frame helmet. Difficult to breath and position your head. If you have big head then they are uncomfortable. Obviously one cannot drive long hours with that uncomfortness. 3) The price is okay (for me it costed each Rs. 4/-). Good value for money. 4) If you are looking for soft and light weight masks, research a bit more.

Good Quality 4 layer, thick layer but much “easier to breathe” as compared to other masks. “Blocks mild odor completely” and “strong odors to some percentage” which other masks I have used are unable to(infact they used to absorb smell). It didn’t fog eye glasses(in Feb)!
