Yes, all 3DS games should work on the 2DS. I only have the 3DS XL, and this game works great on there.

Is there download play? Can you play with someone next to you without wifi?

Yes, there is download play similar to Mario Kart DS, only one person needs to own the game, but everyone needs a 3DS. However, those without the game are limited to playing as Shy Guy with the standard kart. There is no need to be connected to a wifi network for this feature (although the 3DSs connect to each other using their wifi radios).

Are you able to play as our lord and savior Waluigi?

No :( but you are able to pay your respects by playing on his waluigi pinball track

Could a 5 yo play this?

5 year old these days I would say yes. My kid is 10 now but at 5 she had a DS and was playing games like this so depends on the child I think.

Awesome Game!

The delivery was very good. The game itself is pretty fun but single player can be finished easily. Multiplayer is very fun and overall if you like fun, arcade games, you should really get this!
