Pro 4 Adaptive Noise Cancelling Wireless Earbuds Air, aptX Lossless

I needed a set of BT earphone to listen to TV. They had to be aptX so there was no lip syncing issues. I use an Avantree Oasis Plus 2 for the BT signal which connects to my TV using an optical cable. I previously had a "cheapie" set of earbuds from Amazon, and whilst they worked OK for the price I wanted higher quality for when listening to YouTube music videos and feature films. These EarFun Pro 4 were recommended to me, for my specific setup (the Avantree supports aptX) by my friendly AI bot and they were a reasonable price - in fact, just about half what I had budgeted for. EarFun Pro 4 are excellent. A decent frequency range, aptX so no lip-sync loss at all, and they also connect simultaneously to my Smartphone so I can run the EarFun app which allows such things as a personalised equaliser, various noise cancelling options (including ambient sound, which is the exact opposite of noise cancelling, very useful for when the other half calls me) and few other things. The fit right out of the box is good, but you get several sized earbud adapters too. I did find I could only use "standard" aptX - if I tried the "adaptive" aptX the sound from the TV would stutter horribly unless I disconnected my phone from the earbuds, when it all sorted itself out again. But standard aptX seems to do the job just fine and I can keep both my phone and Avantree/TV connected at the same time. Incidentally, if you set the preferred equaliser and noise cancelling options on the app first, you can then disconnect the phone and the earbuds still honour those settings (they are retained indefinitely). Volume is good and can be controlled by earbuds too (single tap on either one will increase/decrease) and other esoteric combinations of taps will answer/terminate phone calls which I have not tried. Or, like me, you can disable all touch controls on the earbuds from the app to prevent unintentional volume changes and other functions whilst you wiggle them around in your ears! I bought these back in August last year, so have been using them for about 9 months now. I absolutely love these earbuds. I’m a total audio gear junkie – always looking for an excuse to get my hands on the new shiny thing. Seriously, I have at least 30 pairs of headphones and earbuds. It’s a problem! Since these, I have not bought any more earbuds (headphones and open ears don’t count right?). I came close to it a few times (especially when the AZ100 came out), and then thought – seriously – how will I be improving on what I am getting with these – at any price? You need to spend a lot of money to pay for a couple of extra gimmicks and negligible improvements - if any. I bought these as as soon as they came out as I am always impressed with the value of EarFun products, so I tend to bag them on the early bird deals whilst discounted. Not only did I save on the purchase, I saved myself a fortune on the products I didn’t buy after buying these. That’s great value! The Good: Sound Quality: These are just incredible for sound quality. Not just incredible for the price – I really can’t fault them considering the form factor. You get a clear, full sound across the spectrum, with a lovely wide and balanced soundstage. Very little muffling when music gets busy and when you want it, the bass wobbles your eyeballs. I don’t tend to spend thousands on headphones and earbuds, but I have a multitude of products around the £300-400 mark and these sound as good as any of those. Noise Canceling: The noise canceling is awesome for a pair of in-ear buds. I can sit in the front room listening to an audiobook whilst my kids are blasting out whatever over-compressed, distorted brain farts they are currently obsessed with on YouTube. That’s a win in my book! Fit: These fit great and the shape suits me well – just like the Air Pro 3. Not too tight, they don;t fall out, they don’t feel heavy or make me feel like I am trapped underwater. The Air Pro 2 for example was a very different shape and I personally didn’t get on with it well. No such problem here. Comfortable for hours. Battery Life: As good as can be expected for this kind of product. Depends on your settings, but I tend to get about 6 hours at reasonable volume with AptX Adaptive and Balanced NC before I have to pop them in the case for a bit. Aptx Lossless Not that many earbuds offer this still and these were one of the first I had seen that support it. It works flawlessly with my Xperia phone and I really notice the difference. I tend to play 16/44 audio files, which are ideal for lossless codecs and these sound just like I am wearing wired headphones. I have to go to more expensive triple driver (wired) IEMs to notice any improvement on sound on these. The Bad: Not much really. I do find that in Optimised LDAC mode, the range doesn’t seem as good as other EarFun products. In fairness, I haven’t checked this in a while as I tend to use Aptx all the time for these or AAC with the Iphone. It may have been improved in an update. No theater mode on these (which I love on the Air 2 NC), but if I am honest, the soundstage is already great and it would probably just ruin the sound. I would love to see multi-point connection whilst keeping on high quality codecs, but that’s not really something that anyone had done well yet. In summary: EarFun absolutely nailed it with the Air Pro 4. You would have to spend at least 3-4 times as much to get any noticeable improvement on these. Very pleased with them!

Tl;dr great ANC and sound, so many features that not even much more expensive buds have. Quick set up through Google fast pair. Holds its own against significantly more expensive audio equipment. Overall superb value. *ANC* For long commutes I would usually use my Sony WH-1000XM5 as it has one of the best ANC, but these buds are able to hold up to them whilst costing 1/5th of the price and in a much smaller form factor. I tested them side by side in a crowd simulation and both cancel out most noise but the highest end like high pitch chatter. The EAP4 ANC cancels about 75% while the Sony's are about 5-10% stronger from my testing, a very impressive outcome against one of the best ANC in class. *Sound* Out of the box these sound great, but they can be tweaked to sound even better to the point that they sound almost on par to my IEMs, which are superior to my Sony headphones. I have shared the 2 EQs that I found to be the best of several EQs I've tested from various sources. These also can get loud, and I never find myself going higher than 80% volume. *Features* Another pair of buds that peaked my interest was the OnePlus buds 4, but after some research I found there are many features they are missing that the EAP4 have: Qi Wireless charging ✅ LDAC ✅ Aptx adaptive ✅ Aptx lossless ✅ Mono mode ✅ Auracast ✅ And other notable features both buds have: Dual connection ✅ In ear detection ✅ Google fast pair ✅ Wind NC ✅ Most interesting feature is auracast that allows connection to channels such as airport announcements or screens playing audio in public. All this while being more affordable. The amount of features these buds have at this price point is unheard of, which swayed me to buy them over the OPB4. *Case and battery* The compact case is one of the reasons for me buying these despite me owning significantly more expensive ANC headphones. Convenience should be a priority and Earfun do not disappoint as despite the small form factor the battery life has yet to run out me. I have attached pictures showing the case size next to my soundcore Aero fit 2s which are noticeably bigger. Verdict: given the price, I was not expecting too much, but the Earfun air pro 4 is a value king. The main downside is the subjective branded design, however, you will be hard pressed to find something better at this price segment. Impressive stuff from Earfun

For under £100, these punch way above their weight class. 🎧 Sound Quality: The audio is rich and well-balanced across genres—whether I’m vibing to jazz or blasting EDM, the clarity and depth are spot on. They support advanced codecs like LDAC and aptX, which really elevate the listening experience. 🔇 Noise Cancellation: ANC is solid, especially considering the price. There are five different ANC modes, which is great in theory, but switching between them can be a bit fiddly. Still, they do a good job of blocking out background noise on commutes or at the gym. 📱 Features & App: The app is packed with features—EQ presets, in-ear detection, and customizable controls. That said, the sheer number of options can feel overwhelming at first. 🔋 Battery Life: Battery life is decent. I’ve been using the EarFun Pro 4 Adaptive Noise Cancelling earbuds for a while now and they’ve exceeded my expectations. The adaptive ANC works really well and noticeably reduces background noise on trains, in cafés, and while working in busy environments. It adjusts smoothly without feeling overly aggressive or creating uncomfortable pressure. The sound quality is excellent with clear vocals, solid detail, and a punchy bass that doesn’t overpower everything else. Music sounds balanced across different genres, and podcasts and calls are very clear too. ** In the box ** 5 set of additional ear tips - very soft silicone. Instructions 10cm USB-C cable Earbuds in their case ** First Impression ** Initial impressions of this set are extremely positive. Taking the earbuds from the case you notice how strong the magnet retention of them is. No falling out despite doing Flossy style "maximum shakage". The case is smooth texture but feels quality plastics. The lid of the case opens smoothly and feels well damped. Then the buds themselves are stem style akin to Airpods/GalaxyBudsPro3 There's a couple of stickers under the buds/charging points to keep them off for shipping so removing these and putting back into the case will trigger the pairing process. For android this is Google Fast-Pair which means they pop-up on screen automatically to pair and then prompts you to download the companion app. Very slick and smooth process. The case even has a nice white LED backlight when you first open the lid so you can find these and put them away in the dark. ** App ** The app provides a LOT of additional configuration including: EQ (presets + hearing test style + manual banded EQ) Firmware update (there was one on already) Customise controls Picking from Bluetooth Codecs (LDAC/AptX Adaptive/Stability preference) Battery Meter ANC selection (5 variations) Ambient passthrough Game Mode Find my Buds Literally there's nothing this app cannot tweak This set of buds supports the latest bleeding edge bluetooth setups (v5.4) including: AptX Lossless (depends on your phone) LDAC Auracast Bluetooth LE ** Default Sound Impressions ** First listen of these i was pretty blown away. These give the Denon Perl Pro / Sennheiser MTW4's a run for their money at 1/5th the price. I didn't really feel like i had to immediately start tweaking the EQ as the default sound was pretty spot on for me --- i did go through the process of the sound profile etc and did a very minimal EQ but really just very subtle tweaks. The bass is impactful, the mids for me are present but not overpowering and the treble sparkles like i've only found on the MTW4's before. Impressed -- listened to several hours of music on these already and i simply cannot find an issue with them. The ANC is probably not class leading (like Bose QC Ultra level) but i'd say it's definitely punching above it's price bracket. Earfun has again smashed it out of the park and frankly puts companies like Sennheiser, Samsung and Apple to shame with how much they prove is possible for a price point that's ridiculous but still manages to keep the build quality, the sound capability and app functionality top-tier. I don't know how they do it --- but considering i've had to warranty repair my Sennheiser MTW3/4 a total of 4 times now in 2 years --- earfun are just putting my senns to shame.

Update after a few weeks use. Brilliant for comfort, battery life and sound. Knocked a star off because they will occasionally just not connect at all and require removing from Bluetooth devices and re-pairing but that can take a few attempts to happen. That said its definitely worth the effort of re-connecting them. A couple of days of heavy use in and these are absolutely excellent in every way. Sound, comfort, a day wearability, touch controls, battery longevity, charging, the app, a little bonus is that when you cycle through normal, adaptive and ANC modes, it tells you which one it is, no silly little beeps that you have to memorise like the Pixel Buds. If I could give them 6 stars I would and if you don't buy a set of these, more fool you. I should point out here that I'm not affiliated in any way at all with earfun, I have bought these with my own money and have no incentive to write this review. Very much first impressions but very good straight out of the box. Case and buds came fully charged and with transit tags still in place. Connected instantly to my Pixel 6a phone, immediately promoted me to download the app, found & downloaded an update. All quick and seamless. The app is very well put together and very simple to navigate and set up the buds, plenty of (i) info bubbles to explain different ANC and sound settings. A matter of a couple of minutes to get the buds tweaked for personal preference. Putting them in my ears, ooooh wow, straight out of the case with the default eartips, they're incredibly comfy and feel properly locked in place, they're as light as a feather too, much less noticeable and bulky feeling in my ear canal and outer, than my Pixel Pro Buds. They come with 4 different spare tips too. The case is a nice compact size, v much pixel buds or airpods size, and nicely rounded too for comfort in your pocket. It's all plastic, but feels solid and the magnetic clip ins for holding the buds and to hold the lid shut are pretty ferocious, nothing is going to be accidentally dropping out of this case. I've left the equaliser in neutral, haven't set it right up to LDAC quality playback and my phone doesn't support the very latest Bluetooth LE, setting, so there is still plenty of room for improvement for the more committed audiophile or happy tinkerer, But the sound, volume and clarity for music and spoken word is spot on, easily as good as my pixels pro buds and previous airpod pros. Not tried the ANC in a real situation yet but just at home with family and dogs pottering around it most definitely works, and the different settings do give a different sound inside your ears. Normal and ambient modes also do what they say on the tin from a limited so far play wirh them. Overall my first impressions are extremely positive, I got these for £60 as a Black Friday deal but on first impressions they'd be VFM at £100 full price too.

****update**** The seller reached out to me and wanted to address my issues with this pair. They offered to send me a new pair and see if it was any better. I got the new pair updated the firmware, and they paired instantly and perfectly. I customized them to my preference and away I went. No issues. I went on my first run and had absolutely no connection issues. I've used this new pair a couple of times and I'm very happy with the new pair. All the great sound quality as the first pair and great anc. I'm really happy with my new pair and still amazed at how good they sound for such small drivers. Thanks earfun for reaching out!! Original review: I had got a new phone and my old earbuds didn't have aptX. I ordered these as an upgrade and was excited to hear them after all the good reviews of these earbuds. I opened them up, set them up with the app, and on my way. I played around with the custom EQ and was super excited. I was playing around with the aptX settings, and the earbuds then disconnected, and refused to repair. It took me damn near 40 minutes to repair the set. Once I repaired, I had all kinds of issues with sound cutting in and out, randomly getting quiet and never getting loud again. I thought it was the noise cancelling , however I was in a car with no noticeable external noise. So once again deleted and repaired and a guess what. Wouldn't connect. 3rd time repairing them to the phone. Changed some settings in my music app, and it seemed to be ok. Well I had to get a new phone, all the settings were saved in the app, which was nice. Earbuds worked pretty well for a while, until I went for a run, and there is some serious connection issues... Yet again... It will randomly cut in and out while I'm running... With my phone in my pocket. 2 feet away max, and still has issues. With all that said, when they work the sound on these things is awesome. The customizations available is awesome, noise cancelling is awesome. And fit with the right tips is pretty good. Battery life is pretty good, but I'm using max noise cancelling so I use the battery up quite a bit. I really want to love these but with the connection and pairing issues, I'm just not sure this is it. for the price I expect better connection and more stability.

Really good ANC earbuds.

Całkiem dobre słuchawki marki Earfun. Jakość wykonania bardzo dobra, chińskie słuchawki premium w niskiej cenie. Obsługują wiele kodeków SBC, AAC, LDAC oraz aptX. Mamy kilka ustawień adaptacyjnego ANC, które można zmienić w aplikacji na smartfona. Jest też multipoint, jednakże warto wiedzieć, że nie działa, jeśli włączymy kodek LDAC. W ustawieniach kodeka aptX mamy możliwość włączenia aptX adaptive oraz Lossless, jednakże ten drugi obsługuje procesor Qualcomm od ósmej wersji wzwyż, mój smartfon ma 870, więc nie obsługuje. Dostępny jest też Le Audio, ale o dziwo u mnie nie działa po jego włączeniu. Dźwięk bardzo dobry, basy też.

Lost my case... But i bought another brand and i regret it big time. The microphone is awesome doesn't pick up background noise like some i had that is more expensive. Also i love the app and customize all the buttons and so on.

É um produto audio incrivel pelo preço praticado. Oferece todas as funcionalidades de topo incluindo audio de alta resolução e todos os codecs mais prestigiados mas a surpresa é mesmo o quão bom é o cancelamente de ruído. Talvez ao nivel de chamadas e microfone não seja uma referencia sendo sem dúvida aceitável para tudo o resto que oferece, mas a qualidade sonora é do melhor que já ouvi. A autonomia, qualidade de construção, a app que possui, o facto de permitir dual connection bluetooth é also que ao preço praticado quase esmaga a concorrencia. Um produto audio altamente recomendado que me introduziu à Earfun e que simplesmente me deixou de queixo caído.
