Oval Rim Door Knob Set - Black Antique

Well made with a the rough finish expected on basic cast knobs. The grub screws have very shallow and narrow slots which makes tightening them awkward, easily remedied with a couple if strokes of a hacksaw but it would be better not to have to do that! A drop of 'Loctite' would not be a bad idea. For doors over 50mm or so thick you might need to purchase a longer spindle.

Overall this made a really nice replacement for the old plastic one on my wife's shed. It could use more detail on the listing as to the length of the bar and position of the holes on the bar. Ideally it would come perhaps with a couple of bars of different lengths. The listing says two "pegs", but I've only just seen this and convinced mine came with just one if that's what they mean by a peg. On a tongue and groove door with a rim lock, the bar was slightly shorter than the existing and only just long enough. Also had to fiddle around swapping the direction of the bar and trying the various holes to secure the handles. Just about got it to work, but it's going to be a bit of pot luck if you're trying to swap one out. Once on it suits a traditional shed and has an aged look. Black screws supplied are handy although the one securing the external handle is rusty after the first rain shower. A stupid bit of corner cutting which spoils the whole thing.

Arrived at 3pm .. completely unpacked, fitted and tidied away by 3.20pm! So easy and a perfect fit, and I'm a 70 year old woman with no particular diy skills!! Really pleased with how this looks.

Wasnt sure if this would be appropriate for the sash/mortice lock on the garage door. Some other review suggested that the spindle was too short. I didnt have any issues at all on an existing tongue and groove wooden door, replacing an old and rusty handle. Liked the idea of oval shaped handles as it will prove easier to open - better grip. Very sturdy.

Good quality and overall pleased. The only problem is that the holes in the square bar for the grub screws are obviously at fixed spaces, meaning that unless you're really lucky, there's a bit of play. I fixed it with a large washer used as a spacer, maybe someone who knew better would have a better solution to that. Anyway, I'd buy this again

Lovely looking product , works well

great quality but only one circular plate included so on one side of my door i’m going to have to botch the job until i can find a solution. disappointing and can’t return as i need to sort today
