Rub a candle on the zippers
Update 1:My number one tip to improve this bag would be to rub a candle on all of the zippers. I found the zippers to be quite stiff and hard to open and close when I first bought the bag, but after rubbing a the hard wax from a candle over them they are running so much smoother.Update 2:Since buying this backpack I've discovered the "SOG accessory pouch" (small) and I can't recommend it enough if you're looking to expand the size of this backpack. When I purchased my first accessory pouch it was $6.49 with Prime shipping, the price has since gone up a little (and it's often out of stock) but I still think it is wayyy underpriced. I now have 4 SOG accessory pouches for my pack and two Chrome Industries phone pouches that mount on the shoulder straps, The SOG pouches are fantastic, they easily attach to the molle webbing on the outside of your pack, they have elastic on the inside to keep things like flashlights, multitools etc in place and there are two large mesh pockets with drawstrings to keep loose items. The "small" is huge, a little larger than a Maxpedition Fatty. I just added some pics of my pack with all 4 pouches (plus two phone pouches) attached...probably a couple too many TBH, but I can easily remove them if need be.Original review:I've wanted to build myself a bug-out bag for a while now, something that would hold enough gear to last me at least 72 hours in an emergency situation.I think I made a great choice in buying this bag. I have a lot of other SOG products, and like the other items I own, this seems well made.I particularly like that this bag has so many pockets, so its easier to keep everything organized. There's also a lot of molle webbing on the outside, so I'll probably buy a couple of extra pouches to have the option of carrying additional gear (see update 2).My Platypus 3 liter hydration pack fits into a pocket in the main section (I think a 2 liter bag would probably fit better though) and there's a hole to run the tubing and mouthpiece to the outside. There's also a pocket on the outside for a water bottle.I'm sure I'm going to be tweaking my gear for a long time in an effort to get just the right combo, but so far I'm really pleased with this bag.

Reliable Everyday Pack
I purchased one of these backpacks for myself as a bag to keep in the car with the stuff I'm usually in need of (bug spray, sunscreen, first aid kit, etc). Quickly learned I can throw far more in the bag than I initially wanted to use it for, The backpack has plenty of compartments and attachments to keep all your items organized in. I added a Condor Pocket Pouch/US Patch (Olive Drab, 7.25 x 5-Inch) to carry nail clippers, a flashlight, and a few pens, and it works well with this back. Any molle attachment should do just fine, really. The hydration bladder pocket works as advertised, though there's not a real hose clamp on the shoulder straps to keep the hose in place. You can make it work with the existing straps, or add your own hose holder easily enough. I do like having the option to take the hose out either the left or right side. One of the plus sides to all the molle and buckle straps is you can add on to this backpack easily. As mentioned earlier, I put a small pack on the front, but you could easily strap a sleeping bag or bed roll on in several orientations. The bag has held up to being thrown around the car, in the woods, around the house, and general use. Zippers seem pretty solid, the backpack material hasn't shown any tears or defects.Ended up ordering another one for my wife to use around town this summer with the kids and on vacation.

Nice backpack. Thanks Amazon for the great price!
I got this bag at a great price I couldn't pass up from Amazon. It's a very good pack for the price even with out the deal I got. Now it is made in China but the materials and quality are good. Time will tell on durability but it seems solid. A lot of compartments on the inside. I added orange paracord pull tabs on the inner zippers for better visibility. The Velcro is good on the bladder pass through tabs (left and right handed sides). The back panel of the inner front storage area is a water resistant material. There are water drainage holes at the bottom of the main compartment. The side water bottle storage can hold a 40oz bottle (similar to Hydroflask). Fits a 3L water bladder with a velcro tab to hold it up. Two mesh zippered pockets in the main compartment. Padded straps and back. Zippers seem pretty solid. I've put an ammo can AND two hand guns in their cases (Sig and HK) in this pack and it holds fine. So far, I would recommend it.I’ve had this for a while now and all I can say is Amazon still has this at an amazing deal. I shop for school backpacks every year for my kids and it amazes me that the regular school backpacks like Jansport go for $40+! This is ten times better and built stronger with more features for half the price. I’ve used it a lot on long days at Disneyland/Disney World, shooting outings, etc. Do yourself a favor and just spend the $22 or whatever Amazon is selling it for and get this.
