This is the right size for an adult female. For side sleeping I have a pillow under it to give it the height needed to keep my neck straight. But you can back sleep without another pillow under it. It doesn't come with a waterproof cover, but it fits in your standard pillowcase. I also have the medium sized one and that one is too big by far. I would only use a corner of the medium one. The thickness and firmness of the petite pillow is the same as the medium... The medium just has more space in the center for a giant head. The medium one also fits in a standard pillowcase. I use the medium one underneath the petite one for side sleeping. The center is completely flat and only the edges of the pillow are full, so you can support your neck and keep your head from rolling to the side. I didn't notice any smell. This brand and the firmness were recommended by my Occupational Therapist.

This hurts my neck so much. I have ankylosing spondylitis and bought this as a supportive pillow and it has been a nightmare. Maybe it’s good for others but it did not help me at all.

It takes a few sleeps to get use to it. But love it! I don’t leave home without it. It’s not bulky. Very comfortable & supports the neck. Keeps its shape.

If you have neck problems and you’re a small person the petite size pillow is a great choice. I’m on my 5th Core pillow. They take a bit of breaking in until it’s not so rigid under your neck so before one wears down too much I order a new one to break in a few hours at a time. The fact that it supports the neck and holds your head fairly still is a huge plus. Keeps me from sleeping out of alignment and waking up in pain. I don’t side sleep so I’m not sure it would work for that. Overall a great pillow for support and alignment for people with chronic neck pain.

I was having difficulty sleeping due to neck pain and since I started using this pillow I have been sleeping so much better. I recommend this pillow. Great product, no weird smell, perfect size

It is so firm it puts too much pressure on my neck which also causes pain. I was looking for a pillow that gave support but it is too firm.

I love this pillow! I have a lot of trouble with my neck but this pillow cradles my head and gives the perfect neck support I need.

I didnt realize how small this pillow is!!!! Not worth it.
