Great sound
I have a Zoom G5n also. Both are same as far as sound quality quality goes. I connect both in line so that I get & blocks to use at a time. You cant record from G3n directly into computer, for that you will need an audio interface. Otherwise G3n is more than sufficient for stage use or for recording purpose. If you have a good distortion or drive pedal, you can use it in front of G3n, with G3n providing amp sim, cab sim, modulation/delay/reverb, looper and drum patterns, and that combination will satisfy any guitarist. Looper is great in these as the playtime can be set to the desired number of quarter notes.

This catapaulted my tones from earth to outside of observable universe. (not exaggerating)
It is without a doubt a bomb for the price. i got it in 9k in a sale and awaited eagerly for it's arrival.pros- ease of access, everything is a footswitch away.- customizable patches to suit your playing and to replicate tones of great bands and players.- you can download more effects and patches and amps and cabinets from the zoom website.- it's well built, all metallic, heavy ( not much ) .- has a usb interface so as to plug in to computer.- built in tuner with 2 modes, sound on and sound off mode to suit the environment.cons- the looper is not in the tuner section so we need to add loopers in patches.- the looper will work for a given patch, suppose i want to loop a distortion riff and play a crunch solo on it, i cannot do it.that's it. i would highly recommend this to players who play at home and gigs sometimes, will give you all the fun you need. i had a marshal mg10cf 10 watt amp which didn't have much tone controls and i always use to whine about it, but this processor changed it all.also it's cost effective, instead of buying an amp of 15k, i"d suggest go for this processor in 10k and an amp of 6-7k.or if you have a nice budget then you can go for zoom g3nx which has a built in expression pedal as well.thank you. i hope it helped.

very nice budget pedal with realistic amp stimulations
I already have a lot of stomp boxes, line 6 pod HD500, Zoom BT100, Korg AX and a bunch of other processors. Since this was for 7819 I thought of trying it. Its got some great sounds and definitely better than other processors in this price range. Some of the amp models, delays and overdrives are much more realistic and closer to the original on Zoom. If you are on a budget, this is a definite choice. Try to get the one with the pedal attached as its good for controlling volume and any other expressions.

Absolutely Fantastic
This processor is absolutely amazing. The effects on this thing are absolutely amazing. The product is very intuitive and easy to use. After spending some time with it, I absolutely love how easy it is to use. The "Sweet Drive" pedal is a personal favorite of mine. Put it in front of another drive pedal and you get an amazing clean and powerful tone. The amp simulators are also fantastic. I can't think of a single tone you can't dial in using this processor. For a player on a budget, this is the processor for you. It gave me a chance to explore all the possible sounds a guitar can make, without spending a whole lot of money. Basic pedals cost about Rs 3,000 and some can cost tens of thousands. With this processor, I get so many amazing sounds for the price of just 3-4 pedals. I absolutely love this processor.

Nice effects. Working well
One star less because it came in an open box with no manual or papers inside.Otherwise a great product. There is a learning curve on how to use all the features properly. The DC adaptor supplied has an american standard two pin plug.75 effects already stored. Memory for another 75 there. You can download more effects from zoom website. In short satisfied with the purchase.

Overall a good multiefx processor unit.
For the budget it's a great multi processor unit. User interface is different from old zoom units.we can use up to six efx pedals in series at a time. (depending on the type of efxs ur using). Create great tones suitable for all music genre. If budget is less go for it , but if u can add some more amount then go for zoom G5n. They have the same sound engine but we get more processing power n tweekablity in G5n.

The Best One
Its a great multi effect processor. Been using for a month and even giged and did recording with it. Everything is bundled nicely into this compact unit. The amps and stomps are near realistic to the physical respective units. It is also studio ready and can be played with it for custom sounds. Easy interface and the added expression pedal at this cost is cherry. The only drawback is the number effects we can add into one stomp which is six. But it is managable and depends the kind of genre guitarist you are.

Really good, but the (previous generation) G3X is far more versatile.
Really good, but the (previous generation) G3X is far more versatile.I ended up returning this pedal because I was disappointed with the additional limitations compared to the previous G3 (not "n") series. On the older G3s you could use up to 6 pedals, with the only limitation being that each had an invisible DSP "cost" and if you used too many advanced pedals (like 5 amps in a chain, or something) you would get an error until you replaced something. On the G3Xn I was often limited to 4 because many pedals -- including all of the amps, I think -- take up two "slots".Also the number of pedals is significantly lower on the new series. I'd say the average "quality" of each pedal is higher (there are some really niche ones on the original series, and some that don't really sound great), but I'd prefer the variety, honestly. Even worse, the original series had a bunch "double" pedals, such as Delay/Reverb that would go into a single slot, but the "n" series does not so in practice I'm using 7 or even 8 virtual "pedals" on my G3.At the end of the day I couldn't replicate the majority of the patches I had made on the G3, mostly because of the slot limitations, and that was very disappointing. Also I had more trouble with the newer/different software. While the G3's "Edit and Share" software is kind of dated-looking, it is certainly powerful enough. And finally, the built-in DI is gone. This is a big loss for going on stage with a minimal rig.All that having been said, the pedal does the job, sounds great, and the build quality is fantastic. For the price you still can't beat it. I just wish it wasn't functionally a downgrade from the older model.Get a G3 or G3X instead if you can, even on eBay. If you want something that looks more professional on stage, or you aren't really worried about the reduced functionality/versatility, then go ahead and pick this up. It's still by far the best value effects pedal in production right now.

I am shocked at how great this product is...
I am not a great electric guitarist. Not by a long shot. However, I have been playing acoustic for a 22 years on and off.I have to say this thing sounds absolutely awesome. I cannot believe the sounds I am getting. I hooked it up to the computer and there were a bunch of updates and new pedals, amps, etc. Great sound quality aside, the build quality is great for the money. It has a heavy metal enclosure which gives it a nice solid feel. The buttons and knobs are all high quality and can definitely take a beating. The pedal is not the smoothest, but it stays put and doesn't bind anywhere. It comes with the power supply unlike some of the lower end products.Overall I would highly recommend the Zoom G3Xn to any one regardless of their guitar experience. Having all these great effects really makes practicing a joy. Speaking of practicing, the looper and backing tracks that are BUILT-IN are great sounding!

Patience & Prayer Needed...
Although I think the G3Xn is a more attractive model, I opted for the G3n and purchased a separate foot pedal which seems to be working just fine. (I just like the flexibility of being able to place my foot pedal in more comfortable positions as needed when playing/practicing and, given the multitude of adjustable parameters, having the unit on my desk for accessibility when recording at home – save from having to bend over all the time.)I am a tech savvy guy (I reckon a smidge or two above average) but still found this product to be very difficult to learn. This is my first guitar multi-FX unit and I am really turned off by the complexity of numerous menus and processes required to get my desired sound.I struggled a great deal trying to navigate the myriad of menus and sub-menus required to fully exploit the capabilities of this unit. I spent a couple days combing YouTube and following every step-by-step instruction video I could find regardless of what language it was in (English, French, Spanish, Russian, Pakistani - mind you I only speak English.) Most videos address the G5n but the concepts are basically the same. In a nutshell, you really need to be comfortable with technology and have a lot of patience to learn this unit. That being said, once you are able to figure things out and gain some understanding on how to enter menus, set parameters and build your own patches, this thing is a lot of fun. What I learned through the frustrating learning process is that this thing can reproduce just about any sound desired in any configuration. So, unless you were involved in building it, there is going to be a relatively lengthy learning curve.THE BAD:• The instruction manual is very poorly written (probably written by techs for techs) so if this is new to you, you will probably wind up (as I did) either watching a ton of youtube videos or simply returning the unit out of sheer frustration.• The complexities of the menus and sub-menus require patience and a lot of prayer.• You are not able to do any editing or building of patches via computer, this would make things so much more user friendly. There are other manufacturers that have these features available on their units.THE GOOD:• The unit is small and easy to pack-n-go. It packs a tremendous amount of effects for something so compact.• It is strong, robust with an all metal casing. No matter how big your feet are or how hard you stomp, this thing will take a beating.• A ton of features and effects, (looper, drum rhythms, tuner etc.) many more than the average guitarist would ever need or use.)• It is extremely affordable and a great value (one of a few key reasons I purchased it) especially when priced against the number of comparable analog foot pedals required to replicate the comprehensive bank of sound effects available.SUMMARY:I’ve only had this for a few days and was preparing to return it but after I started to get the hang of things (thank the lord for guitarists on Youtube), I opted to keep it.The primary reasons I purchased this unit was the high number of positive reviews all over the web, the exceptional price point and the value for dollar spent. The reason I opted to keep it after an incredibly frustrating first few days, was (you guessed) guitarists on Youtube.Would I buy it again? Hard to say. Now that I have a semblance of understanding on how this unit works, I probably would and (if it were not cost prohibitive) would probably buy the G5n. On the other hand, if guitar enthusiasts on Youtube were not around to help me I would have shipped it back and gone with another manufacturer.Minus 3 stars for its complicated user interface and poor instruction manual. 2 stars gladly returned for its fun factor once the user eventually learns the unit.SUGGESTED IMPROVEMENTS:A major improvement would be the ability to build patches and fine tune settings via computer. As it presently stands the only thing you are able to do via computer is see what is on the unit and download new patches (there’s no way to listen before you download and no way to make any adjustments via the USB connection.)Another useful improvement would be a single window that shows (in real time) what elements in each patch is currently being used (like the G5n) You can have as many as seven elements in a patch but can only see three at any one time. Having a single window would be much easier and informative at a glance than scrolling through three separate screens.
