Truly Fantastic
There are no reviews of this so I thought I would give a quick one for anyone considering buying the Pioneer BDR-X13U-X External Blu-ray DriveOne word – DON’T - only kiddingOK, the truth is that this drive is the nicest I have ever owned. It is amazingly quiet. It is amazingly accurate. It is amazingly fast and so smooth when opening and closing the drawer. I cannot say enough positive things about this drive. It’s ridiculously expensive, but by far the best I have ever used. It is similar to my OPPO 203 in its build – and that is saying a lot. I’m glad I bought it, and I got over the price tag the first time I opened the drawer.

This is mislabeled
S version is in an X version box. No feet on the S version. Assume the more expensive X version will sound better. You will OVERPAY Amazon for the wrong drive. These drives are available much cheaper from Pioneer. Assume Pioneer will send the correct drive. The drive I received had scratches and appears it had been returned before.

No Linux support
It doesn't explicitly say there's no Linux support in the description, but it also doesn't say it supports it. For a nearly $400 product meant for hobbyist it's a very horrible stance to take to simply pretend Linux doesn't exist. I don't think it's unrealistic to say that most hobbyists these days that are still using these are on Linux.Returned this, not worth spending an extra $100 on a Windows license.
