Love this CPU!
So happy i bought this cpu over the 7700x. it runs super cool and does x265 10-bit video encoding like a beast. saw a ~50 fps increase playing apex legends (old cpu was 5700x in a x570 mobo). running this cpu in a x870 Eagle gigabyte mobo with a Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE ARGB cooler.

Most likely need to update BIOS to make this CPU work
Great CPU. It’s your pairing this with the Gigabyte b650, you will need to do a BIOS update. But, I realized it’s pretty easy, you just need to hook up power to the motherboard board, use the QFlash port, let it update and boom it’s ready to go. I wish I knew that before, would’ve saved me 2 hours of trying to figure out what’s wrong. Overall performs very good, keeps cool ant 74 degrees under gaming load and power draw I saw is not more than 85 watts while playing 1440p.

Good value that’s overlooked
A good alternative to the 9800x3D if you aren’t pairing it with a 5080 or 4090. Runs cooler than you’d expect and is very good value for performance. I didn’t realize how much my 3700x was holding back my 3080 and saw a 100fps jump in some games. Don’t leap frog your hardware generations

The 9700x is THE CPU to get for SFF builds if you're concerned about power and thermals
I've always wanted to do an SFF build that was just as capable for gaming as well as some creative work, video editing, etc, as my larger rigs.I currently have 2 main systems in the house: Asus Astral 5090 + 9950x3d and 4090FE + 9800x3d, both on larger Lian Li 011D Evo cases with 360 AIO and plenty of fans. Without those extra fans and larger cases, these systems would run hot, especially with the GPUs they were paired with, so I knew I wanted a CPU that would not only run cooler but also more power-efficient. Enter the 9700X.This is my current build and it's a supremely capable and thermally sustainable beast of an SFF build even under heavy 4K gaming loads. 9700X + 5080FE, MSI Mortar mATX mobo, 32gb CL30 Trident Z5 DDR5 6000 expo, Corsair H100i Elite 240mm AIO, and 3 Noctua 120mm low profile Chromax fans (1 intake from rear, 2 intake from bottom) all shoehorned in a tiny Jonsbo(Jonsplus) Z20 case. Passes all thee stress tests, and even at full 4K gaming loads, thermals are amazing for a SFF build with a 5080! At these loads, both the 9700x and the 5080FE temps are in the low to mid 60s, and rarely spikes over 70. These thermals are comparable to my larger builds with only a small sacrifice in performance mainly because the 9700x just can't compete with those X3D chips but can certainly hold its own at a much lower TDP. Gaming performance is amazing as paired with the 5080FE.That said, for me at least, an SFF is the only situation where I think the 9700x makes sense. Price was great and I bought this from amazon for $265. I was originally going to do this SFF build with another 9800X3D but those have not come down from their $480 price yet and I already knew they ran warmer and drew more power, so I'm extremely happy with the 9700x and wouldn't hesitate to use it again on another SFF build. Highly recommend.

Good CPU and great wattage!
I wanted a lower watt CPU to reduce heat output in my office. Upgraded from an Intel i7-11700k and I am very happy. Super easy to install and noticed many apps and functions are just snappier.

Great buy.
I have used this processor for around 4 months now, handles any modern game just perfectly. Running it with a rtx 3060, I run most games at ultra graphics, and haven't encountered a single issue yet. Great buy for a gaming rig. Deff needs a liquid cooler tho 👍

Good Performance and Runs Cool.
The Ryzen 7 9700X has been a good upgrade for my PC. This 8-core, 16-thread processor delivers a balance of gaming performance and productivity. I can run most games at a consistent 150 FPS. Whether I’m playing graphically intense AAA titles or editing video, everything runs smooth as silk. One of the standout features is its low TDP, which makes it incredibly easy to cool. Even during extended gaming sessions, the temps stay well under 85°C with a standard air cooler. No need for an elaborate cooling setup—it’s efficient and reliable right out of the box.The unlocked design also offers room for tweaking, and I’ve had no issues with stability during overclocking. It’s perfect for gaming, streaming, and even productivity tasks like video editing. If you’re looking for a processor that balances power, efficiency, and value, the Ryzen 7 9700X is an good choice. I couldn’t be happier with its performance

Very Satisfied with this CPU
Got this over the 7800X3D for workstation purposes. This cpu has just been great. I've got it overclocked, but the temps stay low. It's blazing fast on boot and runs all my games soooo smooth. I upgraded to this from a 9700k and could not be happier. It pairs perfectly with my buddy's old 3080 ti he sold me. Overall a great cpu, and hard to beat at 300$.Oh and it shipped super fast. The original box was in great condition too. Very satisfied with this purchase.
