Heavy product
It's a monster sized bag for all your accessories. But after feeding it it way to heavy . Not for traveling according to me. It's really heavy.

I'm Impressed....
My last Lowepro bag I have had for around six years but alas I have now outgrown it and its no longer big enough for what I need however, i will still keep it and use it for those smaller jobs. The Lowepro Pro Runner BP 450 AW II is a bit special. The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was the quality and the finish, it's very impressive. Its well made, obviously durable and extremely adaptable. I now have all my kit in one place and I feel it's secure and safe. I like the lockable zips, I like the secure fastenings for my large tripod and I like the vast amount of storage space, Lowepro have worked hard developing this bag and I am very glad I purchased one.Its a lot more comfortable to carry on my back than the old Lowepro I think the waist belt is a must though as there is some serious weight in my bag, the waist belt really does help to distribute the weight. To give you an idea of the space available I have in mine:Nikon D4sNikon D800SB900 flash and its accessoriesNikon 80-400Nikon 24-70Nikon 105Nikon 24 f1.4Nikon 50mmIpadFiltersSpare MemoryNotebookBattery chargers for both camerasCablesPlus whatever else I may have forgotten.I suspect I will get many years of use out of this.

useless as hand luggage - deeper than advertised
Advertised sizes are all wrong.I bought this bag to travel. The advertised measurements of the bag would indicate it fits easily within the restrictions of airlines (even low costs ones). Sadly the bag is much deeper than advertised, even with the belt removed. I’ve just loaded mine and it is 28cm thick! That’s 10cm thicker than advertised!!The bag is good, fits my 6DMkII, the fat 70-200 f2.8, a fat 50 f1.2, a very fat 11-24, and the stock 24-70, a speedlight, the usual bits and bobs, and a 13” laptop. You may think that’s a stupid amount of gear to take at once, but I travel from location to location with various needs depending on the day...The annoying bit is that even by reducing the anount of kit in the bag, it remains thicker/deeper than advertised. The internal separations will not compress (a plus I suppose) and therefore it makes this bag useless for me whenever I need to take the plane.

Disappointing upgrade to the previous model.
Pros. The carry handles are improved over previous modelThe removable waist strap is a nice touch. The inside zipped pockets are improved as they zip horizontally rather than vertical like the 'Mark I' version which didn't make any sense. The outside of the bag seems padded but I guess this is because the laptop storage is now on the front.I like the lockable zippers.Cons.The bag isn't as deep. I can fit a 24-70 upright in the previous 'AW 450 I'. The new model is a good inch and a half shallower. The laptop pocket is now on the front of the bag instead of the rear. I tend to stiff reflectors etc in the front. It's easy for the lid to crash open with the weight of the laptop on the front pocket. The foam dividers are flimsy compared to the old model. There doesn't seem to be straps to give extra security to the bag zips. Its always nice to know these are extra secure when running for a train etc.The old bag wasn't perfect but I don't understand why they improved certain aspect like the grip handle and the internal zippers but then made the made shallower and moved the laptop compartment.

Huge and well made, but very badly designed.
This is a very large, well made rucksack, with room for at least two professional sized DSLR bodies plus lenses. Now, here's the rub: try getting them in there! All the compartments and velcro are in the wrong places, such that even getting a D850 fitted with a standard lens in there is tricky and non-ideal. The placement of the tripod holder right on the back is another bad idea - it keeps the weight down the centre of the bag, but obviously the whole thing is then off balance, basically trying to pull you over backwards. It looks good, it's big, and it's well made, but it was obviously designed by someone who's not a photographer!

Quality at its best
After buying an ape case 2000 and returning it (just too big and heavy) good case though, I was looking at the Lowepro ProTactic 450 and the pro runner 450 and this one won as it’s got more pockets and is less deep and I think it looks better. The bag is very light, quality is outstanding and has loads of space, even has a drawer in the main compartment for bits (so cool). The straps are heavily padded and feel so comfy the stomach strap is padded but can be removed if needed. It’s got a side handle too so can be carried sideways. This bag has had a lot of thought put into it and it shows. The bag is quite expensive but it’s worth every penny.
