Does what it claims, but you're going to use this in a normal litter box?? O.o
A little background on my pet situation to make this review fair: I've inadvertently become a crazy cat lady and I now have 4 kittens (from the same litter, we found them as strays) and a 3 year old cat and a 12 year old cat (the older cats are outdoor cats). My boyfriend also is not a pet fan. We both HATE litter boxes. I decided I will attempt the very difficult task of toilet training the kittens. So I bought the City Kitty toilet seat. Therefore my pine pellet litter (which I love) that we used to start with litter training wouldn't do because our toilet is old and doesn't flush well. I also realized that the pine litter was hurting their little paws making them not want to use the seat.On to this litter: I decided to try it for the City Kitty. When I got it I put it in the City Kitty seat and all four of my kittens came running and jumped up to try it out. Now, I want to note that them getting up on the toilet is not an issue. I give them treats when they hop up on it, so they do it all the time. BUT when they felt the cat litter under their paws I immediately knew they like the way it feels. They seemed surprised at how soft it is. With the pine litter they would tiptoe around and when the pellets got stuck between their toe pads they would shake their paws and fling it everywhere and often just hop back off the toilet. The Better Way cat litter has an attractant scent, and I know that is true and it works because two of my kittens are problem litter box users and they didn't like using it. My white cat, Mewzipan, would pee on fabrics like towels, my black and white cat, Pepé Le Mew, liked peeing on the tile in the bathroom (thank god it was just the tile!) Mewzipan especially had a hard time going on the seat, he gets so distracted by the water under the opening. So I would have to sit in the bathroom with them for 20-30 minutes after each meal (4 a day!!!) to make sure they went in the toilet. But the second Mewzipan touched the Better Way litter, he sniffed it and immediately used it! Then Pepé Le Mew did it too!!! I was so thrilled! So yes, it definitely does attract the cats, they can smell it and they like it. It is definitely gentle on their paws. It flushes just fine. There is no unpleasant smell and no dust. These are good things. :0)Here's what I don't like: First of all, the second it gets wet any area where the liquid touches turns into solid clay, but it remains moist. Meaning, that my cats won't touch that spot. Sometimes it however doesn't suck up the pee fast enough and it gets all over my kittens' paws. For me, this is bad news, because my kittens are not really great at grooming themselves. We found them at maybe 2 weeks old under an abandoned house, caught them when they were maybe 3 weeks old and had to bottle feed them because they must have been abandoned or the parents died. The kittens were very sick and several of the others from the litter had already died. So they never learned cat behavior from their parents. They do sort of lick themselves, but they don't really GROOM. I have to bathe them frequently. So they will track the pee all over the place. EEEEEWWW! Not good. I had to still hover while they used the litter to make sure I'd lift them up before pee could touch them. Also, when they dig in it they fling it all over the place (and about half of it into the toilet). And when you step on the kernels it kind of feels like walking on crumbs, which I don't like. It gets stuck to your socks and feet and ends up everywhere. My son also says he has caught them peeing on the floor where the litter lands. Gross. I didn't notice that, but we are in that bathroom 4 or 5 times a day cleaning the floor whether they pee on the floor or not, I just didn't realize they were peeing on the floor because of this litter. He could be wrong.I also tried it in a litter pan, and here is where I have real concerns. First of all, I don't really know why ANYONE would want flushable litter for a regular litter box. Why? You still have to scoop it, is it really that hard to put it in a bag and toss it? NO WAY would I buy this litter for a regular box. Poo sits on top of it, pee doesn't always absorb so you need to use A LOT of litter in the pan and once they pee on a spot once no way are they using that spot again, meaning you'll be changing the litter a LOT. And I'm pretty vigilant about it most of the time. We clean the box every day at least once, usually more often. Anyway, besides that, I paid almost $15 for this bag. It is not a very big bag. I think if I was using this cat litter in a box I would need a new bag probably every 3 days!!!! That's insane. I know I don't have the money for that, and even if you have the money for it, why spend it for something you just don't need for the litter box??? Just don't buy this for a normal litter box!!! And if you are wondering, I seriously doubt you should put this in a CatGenie. I know that I spent way too much on mine to even risk that! (We are not using the CatGenie right this moment because it doesn't fit in the bathroom. It'll be my backup litter box to the City Kitty when we are done installing our new toilet in our other bathroom.)IF you are using it like me, in a City Kitty seat or whatever kind of toilet training device you are using, then it will be pretty great. But you'll have to scrape out the clay clumps after every time your cat goes. And if used like this, it will last a long time. I think I have had this bag for 3 or 4 months now because I only need maybe 1/3 of a cup to fill the seat. And like I said, I have 4 kittens using it, so it is effective for a multi cat household with picky cats that need help using a litter box. I have two back up pans with pine litter and the City Kitty with the Better Way litter and we are now done with accidents on the floor. :0)

If you have a strong will and patience made of steel go for it
This is awesome it is the best ever you have to have a 🌏HUGE amount of patience!!!!!!🌍*** I mean months and months!!!!! If you're having a problem with it it's because you have no patience! You're going too fast. You gotta do a lot of cleaning up, take a lot of time, and make arrangements to use the bathroom around that device, (you will find a system that works for you. I got a deep steel salad bowl at Walmart that fit inside of my toilet bowl 12 inches to be exact I put their litter in that and that is what they use the bathroom in inside of the toilet bowl. I slowly started relocating their litter box from its normal spot to the bathroom, this took about a week and then I put the litter box on a chair beside the toilet and I would slide the chair further and further away from the toilet) * OVER TIME!!!! remember the bowl with the litter is still in the toilet, I would just remove the bowl and set it on a rag on the floor and clean the toilet seat every time I have to use the toilet, small price to pay! it's a pain in the butt but it's a small price to pay, then I slowly start pulling the chair with the litter box sitting on it further and further away from the toilet, once I have moved the chair about two foot away from the toilet they get used to using the bowl that has the litter in it inside the toilet, now you remove the litter box entirely but LEAVE THE CHAIR they have to have that visual simularity!! The bowl is still in the toilet with the litter, they know that, they will use that, NOW you buy citikitty by then they're used to going to the toilet 'location', I immediately punched out the middle 'smallest' hole in the citikitty, you got to go *VERY SLOW* after that for months because the smell of the toilet water will really throw them off! Don't get excited. Don't jump the gun and go for it you will want to but don't punch out any more holes in the citikitty, not yet!!! If you go too soon you'll ruin it and have to buy another. It is WORTH IT in the end. If you're impatient and a complainer,... don't even try it!

For toilet training only
Let's just get this out of the way: you don't buy flushable litter to put in a litter box. I'm using it to train my kitten/cat with a CitiKitty toilet training set and that's the best, and possibly only, use-case for this product. It's flushable and the cat tolerates it, so yea! And once the cat is trained, I will never, ever, ever buy this stuff again! That's the good news. Now for the bad news: if you are using it like regular kitty litter, you will be sadly disappointed. No, it doesn't clump and it's still dusty and gets tracked everywhere. It's expensive and you have to add catnip to it to keep the cat engaged. If there is anything at all in there, you'll find your cat doing the potty dance or simply relieving itself elsewhere as this stuff needs to be perfectly cleaned after each use unlike the other clumpable stuff from the grocery store. Have you heard about how poor the packaging is? My introduction to the product was a leaking Amazon box spilling kitty litter all over the place when I took the box inside. The bag had opened from the bottom spilling litter all over the rest of my order (about 6 pounds was loose in the box). So, if you are toilet training your cat, this is good (five stars if the bag wasn't such a problem). Just don't order it with anything else and have a container ready to deal with the broken bag. If you are going to put this in a litter box, reconsider. If so, one star. You have been warned.

It's not flushable!
How does it can be "flushable" if the instructions say it clearly that it will clog pipes.

Very good product! true and only flushable cat litter I ever found !
I'm training my kitten using toilet. This litter is perfect. It is easy to be washed out and wouldn't stick in the toilet like others.Too bad it is not available to buy on amazon anymore !Is there someone can tell me where to get this product? Thanks in advance !

Flushable & easy on the Paws too
My cats really liked it. However I found a biodegradable grain litter for $10.00 less at a pet store nearby. After a couple of months though I found ants in my bathroom & concluded it's from the wheat litter. Shame really.

Works fine but...
This was suggested to work with litter quitter but should not be flushed down the toilet.

Flushable and Fresh !
Really good product. Some litters smell like poison when you are cleaning the litter box. This one really masks the urine smell without being a perfumed fragrance. Would definitely buy it again
