Works as advertised with a good downpour!
works pretty good - moves water away from barn assuming a good W. TX downpour! Quality material.

Not the same as the 4’ extender
We bought 4’, 8’ and 12’ green Frost King downspout extenders. The 4’ is quality plastic, stays rolled up by itself and will roll back up after the rain (apparently. It hasn’t rained since we installed it). The 8’ and 12’ are flimsy plastic. They came with a flimsy twist tie to secure them. We had to replace those with our own zip ties. And they will not roll themselves back up and will probably get torn in the wind if we don’t roll them up quickly ourselves. Would not recommend.

Good product for the price.
I have had this product on my downspouts for awhile now. They definitely work as directed. Everyone in my house loves watching them slow roll out on their own. If you are not one to pick up after yourself on a regular basis, this may not be the product you are looking for because you have to roll them back up manually which the product does mention. I thought that this would not bother me, but I get lazy just like everyone else. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because the product is shipped with twist ties (like the ones on bread) rather than zip ties. The twist ties would not hold the extender on my downspout after a few heavy rains. I had some zip ties at the house which fixed that issue.

Split within 4 months
Was just ok. Would not repurchase. It split along the seam in under 4 months of use. It did not stay rolled and only unroll with water flow so it was always very floppy into the yard. It would do in a pinch, but that's about it.

Look like it might be our perfect solution to conserve water off the roof and put into swiimming pool. Remains to be seen...New
We just got this to address a water conservation issue we are hoping to help. We are trying to use as much rain runoff of roof to add pool water. Our water in this area is depleting so rapidly and is very expensive and we have a ridiculously large pool (we are in Texas -- if you live in Texas in the summer to is a necessity--trust me). Our back gutter is within 5 feet of the pool edge. I will try to attaché a photo to show you our home grown rigging, but to articulate (sort of) we take a flexible gutter tube and run it through the hedge so we can get an elevated water source and then we attached this product. The produce is solid for the distance we need to cross the surround pool decking (which slopes back toward the house and requires the elevation being considered and rigged) and has holes just about where we need it too to go into the pool and down the side. I would be surprised if this retracts, but we do not care as we will gladly reroll it if this helps. Will try to let you know, but for now I think it has a great shot at working (ie I am a Pollyanna and always think my ideas will work until provden NOT.)

This are horrible and not worth the money
If I could return these, I would! But they have been used. The purpose of these was to divert the water further from the house. They are so light and floppy that any small amount of wind blows them and the don't remain stretched out. So when it rains, the water bunches up in them which defeats the purpose.

Sun deteriorates the plastic
I needed a longer reach gutter extension. The shorter reach extensions automatically rollup after the rain. This one automatically rolls out during the rain, but you have to manually roll it up after the rain has finished. Couldn't find a longer reach extension that rolled up automatically. Manually re-rolling after the rain is working out okay. Additional review: Nov 2024,After two months the sun deteriorates the plastic and the rollup falls apart. If located in the sun this will not work for you.

works great
this gets the water to drain away from the foundation, the last two feet have holes to get the water to spread out slowly and not create a rut, if its too long cut it!!!!! for 5 bucks you can't beat it, my down stairs was flooding because the down spout is right next to the foundation, this downspout extender is an easy solution, the idiots who wrote bad reviews did not read the information or look at the pictures the seller provides, this is a quality product that works very well, the only better solution would be to dig a trench out to the street and use 3'' drain pipe, I tried the spout extenders that roll up automatically and they dont work
