Mixed feelings - UPDATE
I have only had this case a few days and already I have mixed feelings. I bought a black one and it looks nice enough. It appears sturdy enough to protect the Fire although it bothers me that the front cover slides around a bit. It has a magnetic closure that keeps it basically in place but not tightly in place. There are some other concerns or perhaps clarifications that I think are important for the potential buy to know, some already mentioned by other reviewers. First, the stand seems to be stable only on a textured surface. On a smoother surface, like a kitchen counter, it either will not stand at all or it might just collapse when you decide to touch the home button. I don't really feel comfortable using a stand that is that unreliable. Also, the part about waking and putting the Fire to sleep when opening and closing the cover seems to me to be a little misleading as a feature. The device will go to sleep anyway, depending on what settings you give it. If asleep, opening the cover does not always seem to wake it. The promotion of this feature also seems to ignore (or at least not mention) the reality that you need to power off the device in a separate action if you are leaving it for very long. If you leave it in sleep mode for an extended period, you may find, when you return, that you have a case of the dreaded screen freeze. This is where you can touch any app or button on the device and get no response or explanation as to why there is no response. This being the case, having the case do its supposed "magic" is not of great value. These observations have left me feeling that I allowed myself to be persuaded to buy a more expensive case, thinking I would be getting features that I now find are of limited value.UPDATE (11/13/16) Now that I have had this case for a while, I have completely changed my impression of it and have changed my rating to 5 stars. I think I was too new to my Kindle Fire and this type of case to give it a proper rating the first time I did so. It really is a fine case and has held up well. I can easily get it to stand on all kinds of surfaces now (don't know why I couldn't before) and it seldom if ever falls. I am using it mostly to listen to audio, however. I don't think it would remain standing well if you were playing games that caused you to regularly touch the screen with any vigor.

Very Satisfied
I ordered the Magenta colored case and couldn’t be happier; it is bright and pretty and matches my Kindle exactly. It is made of soft microfiber so it feels nice and soft when I am holding it. I personally do not like slippery cases. It fits the Fire HD 6 perfectly but can be removed easily. The magnetized cover stays securely in place, even in my junky purse. I no longer worry about the Kindle screen or metal case getting scratched or nicked. The protective case is really handy. When the cover is closed, the Kindle automatically goes into the sleep mode and I don’t have to worry about running down the battery when I am in a hurry, forget to turn it off and stuff it in my bag. The stand arrangement is a little tricky and takes some effort to learn to use successfully but it is sturdy enough once you get the hang of it. The Kindle itself is very light weight and I don’t notice any significant difference with the case on.I am really glad I chose the Amazon case and not one of the knock-offs. It is Amazon’s normal, excellent quality and I know if anything goes wrong, I can easily get help, a replacement or a refund from Amazon.

Great case, but needs a stronger back magnet
I bought this cover in several colors for my HD 6. It fits the kindle like a glove and it is kind of hard to get out of the case if you need to it get out. I also like the magnetic sleep feature of the cover that when you close the cover it automatically puts the kindle to sleep until you open it again. The case is pretty solidly built. The stand portion of the case is decent, it does what it is suppose to do. If you put it on a flat, level, even surface then it work just fine both vertically and horizontally. But, it you try to use it on your bed, body, pillow, etc the results will be less then desired. I took a star away because I think the magnet in the back that creates the stand could be a little stronger and would make the stand more stable. But, I really like it and it is very unique in that it is the only 360° case that isn't a swivel type and has a very minimal footprint.

Typical Amazon Excellence, Fan-TASTIC Case and Protection
This is a great case! It has a very nice, matted-texture finish, making it very easy clean and maintain - and the texture has a great feel to it. The HD 6 is a little blocky in design, fortunately, this case adds VERY little in size / weight to the tablet itself - so if that is a concern, don't give it second thought. The case is solid, sturdy and it looks GREAT.For owners of the Fire HD 6, having a protective case makes a lot of sense and for me, a MUST. I bought the HD6 specifically as a travel tablet - one that I can use in the airports, on the go, and in between jobs. The size is PERFECT for this purpose, and a protective case is even more important, as it is often in my jacket or suit pocket, glove box or messenger bag.I've had a few dust and debris smudges on the case, from being tossed about in my messenger bag. Because of the textured finish on the case, I can take a small damp cloth to it and remove dust smudges just like that!Taking photos with the case on doesn't work well, takes a bit of two-handed finagling ... so what? Doesn't bother me a bit, I can pop the tablet out, take photos and snap it right back in, if I really must. I've read a few "expert" reviews on the web, decrying this "horrible oversight", my advice to potential buyers of this this case is to ignore them and stick with the great reviews you find here (from verified owners). There are a few third-party case offerings for this tablet, also very good. I happen to like the fact that this one is made BY Amazon, FOR Amazon. I would have loved having a deluxe Leather case, such as they used to make for the 2nd Gen Kindle Fire (I bought two), but it doesn't mean I love this one any less. Perhaps they'll consider making a leather one in future. My advice? Go buy one! Read all the other reviews here, consider the great advice therein and plunk down the 29 bucks, Cheaper than Insurance and a lot better protection!.....
