This product as shipped to me is not the retail product in the cardboard box as shown in the picture
This product -- the two cartridges -- were shipped to me still within their inner shrink-wrap factory wrapper, but missing the outer cardboard retail box shown in the picture. IE the product is not exactly as described by the picture. It looks as if perhaps the product is purchased without the retail packaging in bulk, it looks like maybe the product is grey market, and then shipped two-at-a-time to purchasers like me -- but without the retail cardboard box. I hope the product is not stale, there is no way to tell from the inner packaging without the outer retail product box -- but I have not had problems with this series of Epson Inkjet Cartridges in the past, so I am hopeful these will work too. Still, hard to argue with the price -- just realize you are not getting the actual retail cardboard boxed product that is shown as being the image of the product being shipped to you, as seen on the Amazon web site!

NEVER use "Compatible" Inks on an Epson Printer!!!!!
I have owned several Epson Printers over the years and the qualipy of the print and seed of the printing has always astounded me. The one thing I have learned over & over agai, with each Epson I've owned, is to NEVER, NEVER, NEVER use "Compatible" or "OEM" Inks or carts on there printers. They WILL clog your print heads!Epson uses propriatary inks that are much thinner then 3rt party ints and contain no lead or iron. Using NON-Epson Inks WILL clog the Print Heads every time & you'll have to replace the head. Using "Compatible" ink cartridges on printers where the head Print head is attached to teh cart (ie: HP, Dell, etc) if fine & they work perfectly, but printers like Epson & Cannon use teh same kind of ink that apparently 3rd party manufacturers can't get becasue I tried all of them and ALL clogged the Print Heads. So my advice, spend the extra money and but AUTHENTIC Eposn Ink and Carts.

Compatible with the Epson R800 and R1800 photo printers
When it comes to ink for my R1800 photo printer, I am concerned with the quality of the images I print. The Epson cyan UltraChrome Hi-Gloss ink cartridge provides superior resistance to water, fading and smudging. It is important to me that my prints are of high quality, so I don't attempt to use the cheaper compatible ink cartridges. The color can be duplicated, but all inks are not created equal. Third party options may produce a good print initially, but may not hold up or last as long.PROS:Provides superior resistance to water, fading and smudgingCONS:Price

Great Ink, Horrible Costs
Epson makes a fine printer, though probably not the best. I continually get banding and bluish prints out of it my R1800. It also clogs up all the time, so I have to run constant cleaning utilites which uses up all my ink...which leads to this review. There are SEVEN total ink cartridges and each one costs over $13.00. This seems reasonable enough except that I'm always running out and constantly ordering more ink. I print a fair amount of prints and proofs for my clients and but it's ridiculous how little ink there is in each cartridge. I spent $500 for my printer and in the last three years I've spent well over $1000 in ink, plus all the paper I buy to reprint messed-up prints caused by clogging. This printer It's a rip-off and a scam and I intend to toss it out ONLY because of the ink costs.

Epson Ink
I have been getting my Epson ink from Amazon because it is the best price I have found and I get free shipping. I only get Epson ink because I have found that other manufactured ink either starts streaking early in its life of their color is night wright. The only complaint when buying was sometimes some of the colors are not shipped by Amazon and you have to pay for shipping, however the lower price from the other vendor paid for the shipping. They just arrive at different times.
