My 4 yr old has FOMO like no other and for some reason once 3 hit she thought she could party like it's 1999 and stay up all night while I'm sleeping in her bed from trying to get her to sleep. My oldest has struggled with sleep since he was 3-4 (maybe younger) years old. I mean, to the point we were both in tears every night. That’s when I discovered melatonin and it worked like a charm for him. We talked to our pediatrician, and she said melatonin was fine and that sometimes kids just need the extra help. However, he is 9 now and still needs to every night (ADHD probs.) I know there is much debate about melatonin for kids and whether it is harmful or not. But I figured, if we could find something to take small breaks from melatonin or replace altogether that works, then why not?I’ve tried another brand of melatonin-free gummies and they didn’t work at the time. So, we went back to melatonin. However, I decided to give it another shot with Zarbees. I was skeptical to say the least after my last experience. However, It’s only the second night, but honestly, I’m impressed. They actually work for my kiddo. So, here is my pros & cons.Pros:- Actually worked - however, everyone’s body chemistry is different. If your kiddo doesn’t react the same way with these, try another brand with maybe some different ingredients.- I didn’t try them, but my kids didn’t complain about the taste, so I am going to assume they tasted alright.- Seem to get good sleep, uninterrupted and woke up ready for the dayCons:- Small bottle/quantity - it only comes with 30 and for ages 7+ they need 2 gummies. With this and melatonin, I always try to give half the dose and see if that works enough. The first night I only gave him one, but the 2nd night he needed 2. If you do the max dose, that’s enough for only 15 days.- Price - $12 for a bottle of 30 gummies seems a little overpriced to me. Granted, I know it’s a name brand and it works, so I am going to keep buying it. BUT you better believe if I find a cheaper option that works just as well, I will not be buying this.- I do notice that this seems to take longer to “kick in” versus melatonin. It’s not an excruciatingly long time, but definitely do it an hour before bed.Hope this helps some parents out there who struggle at bedtime ❤️
