Outstanding
These are superb little headphones. I have owned many pairs of headphones in the £30 - £100 price range, including Shure - EC2, EC3. SE210, Etymotics - ER6i and HF5, Klipsch Image S2, Ultimate Ears Super fi 5 etc.I tend to find there is always something I don't like, whether it's too much bass (Klipsch Image S2), not enough bass (Etymotics), irritating cables (UE Super fi 5), having to wear the cable behind the ears (Shure), poor fit (UE Super fi 5) etc.Not the case with these. There is nothing I don't like about them. The sound quality is superb. Strong bass, but not overdone. Crystal clear highs. I've heard people say of lesser quality headphones that they can hear things they'd never heard before in their music - that is undeniably true of these. The only thing I don't like are the ear gels - none of them are big enough for my wide ear canals, but not a problem, just use ones from alternative providers - I particularly like the large size ones made for Jays earphones. To be fair, these are the most expensive headphones I've bought by about 50 quid, but well worth it.

Image X5 Review
Bought these earphones after reading various reviews, after I broke my Sony NC earphones. Build quality is excellent, I use them every day on my bike, walking and also in the Gym. I had read the other reviewers comments about cable noise, but to be honest I've not noticed it, even whilst running with them. Noise isolation is pretty good, as I use these on the train. The sound quality though is top notch. I've put them through their paces listening to various types of music ranging from Opera, Pop, Rock , Hip Hop, D&B and Trance. If there is one thing I would like to improve is that I could do with a bit more bass, as I tend to listen to a lot of Trance, but for other types of music they seem perfect. As they pick up a lot of detail, its worth saving your MP3 in the highest bitrate possible to do them justice. If you're looking for a decent set of earphones, that suit a wide range of music and are well built then give them a try!

Klipsch X5 great headphones
I really enjoy listening to music on my iPod, having read lots of reviews I plumped for these beauties! They are small and very light. I have used them all afternoon, no discomfort or irritation. The sound is clear, strong and punchy! Even at the loudest setting there's no distortion. Also the jack conector is quite slim and fits my iPhone even with a Speck Candy Case.I got a good deal on these, a lot less then list price.I've not used the X10's but I would think that these represent better value for money. With burn in maybe these little beauties will sound even better!Definitely a great set of headphones!

small but perfectly formed
It must be noted that to get the best out of these exceedingly good 'phones it is worth spending some time ensuring you choose the right plugs for your ears (you have 5 to choose from). Once the correct fit is achieved (these Klipsch Image X5 Small Lightweight In-ear Headphones have to be inserted IN the ear quite a way) both the level of sound isolation and fidelity of reproduction are remarkable. Don't waste time using these for bad quality mp3s, get a good quality one or another sound source and you will be well rewarded. Worth the money? Definitely!

Small but perfectly formed
Once you've owned a pair of sound-isolating headphones it's hard to go back to regular ones. Being able to listen to your music without background noise allows you to hear things in songs that you've missed in the past and also protects your hearing as you don't need your music so loud.I bought these as a replacement for some Shure sound-isolating earphones that I've worn out and after reading several positive reviews around the web bought these Klipsch ones. They're really light, easy to fit and with a bit of wiggle will give a good degree of isolation from background noise. The real selling point however is the amount of bass from such tiny earphones. You do need to fit them properly to get the full bass effect, but you'll know when you've got it right. There's a selection of ear-pieces to help you get that perfect fit. Perfect if you're a bit of a rocker!!!Some people wouldn't pay this sort of money for earphones, but ask yourself the question, how many hours a week do you listen to your iPod? If it's more than a few, you really should give these a go.

O yessss
After getting a new mp3 player (Sansa Fuze 8gb)and getting a new job I decided to treat myself to a new pair of headphones.Ive previously owned a pair of Bang and Olufsen A8 ,Senheisser px 100 and a pair of Shure se110 Which were good but I lost them. After going to a few shops I entered HMV which I dont normally shop in but was suprised to see they had a decent sale on.So after much deliberation i bought a pair of Klipsch S4s.After a couple of days these were not for me way too bassy and rather unpleasent also the dreaded esssss sound on many tracks .Very disappointed I returned to HMV and thought sod it lets go the whole hog and treat myself on a pair of Klipsch X5s.Wow Im glad I did they are superb ,really comfortable, and great isolation and made of alluminium. The sound is far superior and better balanced than any other headphones ive ever had.Tight crisp bass, smooth middles and pleanty of scope on the highs for you to play around with your EQ settings.Over all a great sounding pair of headphones .And the best part is that in HMV (spit, lol)they are less than £100.Buy them or die..Simples..

Disappointed
After losing my beloved pair of Shure, I bought this set at an Amazon discount price of $150. Even so, after a month of using, I regret this purchase. My major gripes:SOUND QUALITY: The sound quality is decent, but not overwhelming. I especially find bass to be unsatisfying when listening to hip-hop.There is a big unpleasant noise from the earpieces when the cords are rubbed against something such as clothing fabric. It sounds like someone is rubbing plastic against my eardrums. My old pair of Shure did not have this problem. HUGE DISCOMFORT. Only fix: do not move a muscle when you wear these.DESIGN: The left-ear piece and right-ear piece are completely identical, except the inconspicuous "R" and "L" markings on the pieces. Result: in low-light or dark environments, such as on an airplane or on your bed at night, you cannot tell by touch which piece goes to which side. MAJOR DESIGN FLAW. HUGE INCONVENIENCE.PRICING: These earpieces are made in China. I am not against products made in China, whose quality have improved vastly and rival western ones. But I don't think I should pay this much for somethhing made in China. Even quality Chinese products should NOT cost this much. I know the Chinese factory workers are still paid very little. Someone in the middle is making a huge profit.

High (mids and lows!) for the ears
The Klipsch X5 is amazing - and there is no greater testament than the fact that I'm feedbacking, something I've never done, or ever felt the need to.The X5, however, has been whispering in my ear: tell them how good I am.And it really is. Audio quality is superb, and I'm usually pretty fussy about these sort of things. While some people might like a heavier bass, and I'll admit, I used to be one of them, I find the balance both clear and clean; a decent bass with clarity at the highs and the mids. I've heard instruments in my music that I've never noticed on my Bose AND Audiophile speakers!Right now, it's raining cats and dogs outside my window, but I quite literally didn't even know until there was a pause in my music - that's how good the sound isolation is. For someone who would like to block the world out and leave the music in, this is a perfect pair of earphones. If you're someone who crosses roads very often, you might wanna let it hang loosely in your ear, just in case, if you even remember that you have earphones in.And that comes to my third point: the oval-shaped ear buds are fantastic for my ears. I've weirdly shaped ear canals, in that I've tried a good number of in-ear earphones, and they've always been too big/painful for me to wear for long periods. Even my Bose on-ear headphones give me headaches after awhile. It's been an odyssey trying to find comfortable earphones to wear for long periods. And now I've found my Penelope. The Klipsch is ridiculously comfortable, although when you first put it in, it'll seem almost counter-intuitive to have to stuff something that fits so perfectly into your ear that you fear it'll be stuck and fuse to be one with the inside of your ear. Once you've adjusted it around your canal a little bit, the lightness and the comfort is incomparable. Now that bad part: I'm currently breaking in my third pair of the X5. Why third? To be fair, I lost the first, so that was kind of my fault. But the thin wires that allow for such lightness on the move is also a cause for concern because of its fragility. The left earphone stopped working after a year, despite me macgyvering all over it. It was a wire issue; something inside just short circuited and disconnected and died, I guess.Still, once you go Klipsch, I don't think you can ever fully go back. That's the best possible reason for brand loyalty: that for its price, it's simply the best in its price range. And I think Amazon has it on sale now, which is EVEN BETTER. Don't miss out.Back to breaking in these babies.

Very good for light listening
I bought these based on old reviews i'd read about them and the Klipsch brand and frankly the price, they were down to $60 at the time. Two things are really important in earphones and they directly affect each other. The first is fit and the second is sound quality.Fit: They fit fantastically well. They fit better than any other earphones i've had and they isolate sound brilliantly. Absolutely top marks for that. They are also small and discrete and whilst the slightly unfortunate design leads them to sticking directly out of your ears, I dont mind that too much as long as i dont fall asleep with them in or lean on my head on my hand. For everyday use, they're very comfortable.Sound Quality: This is always going to be somewhat subjective and of course it depends on what you want out of them and what music you listen to. Acoustic, Folk, Light Rock, Melodic tracks and live sets sound incredibly good. The clarity and detail is open and accurate and I find them really enjoyable to listen to.However... ask them to play some Massive Attack, Dance Music, Heavy Metal or anything with a deep low end or strong bass undertones etc and they don't impress. Don't get me wrong, the bass is there and its well controlled and adds nicely to the overall sound, but when the track demands it, its just too weak.Summary: Great for light music, acoustic etc, very comfortable with a good fit but lacking in overall impact and presence due to a lack of low end. Despite that, I still love them.
