It flips and flaps
My old cat came barrelling through the catflap one evening duringa thunderstorm, and broke the tabs on the flap.For years we've been putting up with a big draughty hole into the utility room, so I finally decided to replace the door and keep the heat in the kitchen.The flap is easy to fit and creates a great seal. The only problem is that it's at night it's quite reflective, and my stupid cat sees her reflection in it and thinks it's an invader. So she sits for hours growling at it, instead of merrily bounding through it. I've stuck some tracing paper on it to remove the reflectivity. We'll see how the cat gets on with this modification.

Fitting instructions would have been useful
After long service during which our cats's claws had removed the draught proofing, it was time to replace the flap. After checking the internet (as one other reviewer recommends) purchased the cheapest one which arrived the next day. I had already seen the comments on the lack of fitting instructions and the question and answers onto how to remove and fit the replacement. I wasn't very successful initially but using a screwdriver as a lever on one side was able to remove the old flap. The replacement went straight in without any problems

Easy to install. Just pop out old one and clip in new one. All as advertised.

Very pleased to find out I didn't need to replace the whole flap thing after the draught proofing eventually went after 10 years and three cats. The draught strip had got tatty and been re-glued a few times - mostly when keeping cats in by locking the door. They still try to get out. Turns out this was actually the wrong flap for my electromagnetic device but I trimmed off the little tab and put a groove in for the catch and it works like new. VERY easy to fit - you just have to be confident. To avoid getting the wrong catflap, go straight to the petmate dot co dot uk website - find out which is the right one and then order that from wherever. The seller of this one was very prompt and best price.

I was reluctant to get it believing the sizing wouldn't match however I was wrong. I would buy again when I move house
