These do exactly what they are intended to to, cut open envelopes and other heavier media. They are larger than I thought they would be, but this has turned out to be a good thing for me. People leaving low rating because it can cut you cracks me up. This is like ordering a kitchen knife and complain because it is sharp and cut you. The opening is larger than some other products to allow for thicker paper, cardboard, etc. Bottom line it is a razor blade, be cautious and DON'T put your fingers in there.

These are great letter openers. The blad is sharp and has opened everything letter and package that I needed opening. The plastic material is also thin enough to fit through most things, but it does take some force and pressure to insert in some packages that have been taped up too tight. They're also really affordable. I'm glad I have one at home, at work and in my bag. A really great value.

These letter openers are awesome! You get enough in the package to share and price is great. They work on envelopes, box tape and even on boxes. Highly recommend these of your look for enough to share at a great price. I will be ordering more of these when I need them.

Sometimes it opens in one stroke, other times, it doesn't cut. When it works, it's great. You just take one stroke and your letter is open. There are a few times where it won't begin to cut and you have to keep trying. There are also times, when you come to the end of the cut and it just gets caught on the end of the letter and rips the end of it. That isn't a big deal, it's just not the smoothest cut. Great product though.

I bought these to replace another similar letter opener that I had been using for a while and let it was just tearing envelopes open rather than really cutting them open. I didn't expect a lot out of these new ones because they were pretty inexpensive. Well, I'm pleasantly surprised with them. I've been using one for months now and it still cuts the envelopes open very handily. I don't notice any less sharpness than I did the first time I used it. I have 7 more still in the bag they came in. It may be years before I actually need to get another one out.

These are normal cutters, exactly what I expected. Curiously fast shipping. I got these to cut vacuum sealer bags from the big roll in a smooth straight line, and it works great for that! It also opens envelopes just fine.

We have a wolf hybrid that gets severely tangled mats in his coat. After trying numerous different tools with limited success at best we had a tip suggesting these. They do a fantastic job removing matted undercoat fur as well as burrs and twigs. Our dog now enjoys his grooming for the first time ! (I'm sure they would open envelopes just fine but haven't used them for that. :)

I love this item. My OCD: I can't toss unaddressed paper in the trash - it has to go in recycling, and anything with my address on it has to be shredded. I'm tired of battling the mail. (BTW - opting out of promotional mail does not work - have done it over ten times already, and they keep coming.) And I got a bunch of them for very little money so top stars for that. I'm sure I'll be losing them one by one so I like that. I think I'm good for years, and can also give some to friends and family.
