De'LonghiCTH4003 4-Slice Toaster

After reading a bunch of reviews from a variety of different toasters, we decided on this one. We are very pleased with it thus far. It is bigger than the other 4-slice toasters we looked at, but seems to be better made.The only negative thing I can say is that at the lowest setting the toast is what we consider to be perfect. It would be nice to have a little lower setting. Maybe the reheat setting would be what to use instead if you need it less.Regardless, it makes great toast (and pop-tarts).

I need to amend this review. This toaster is even more disappointing than I originally thought. Putting the dial up to 6(the highest) pre packaged sliced white bread comes out toasted lightly on one side other breads are warmed and not toasted. I would never recommend this toaster to anyone. DO NOT BUY!!original review: This toaster was a replacement for one from much simpler times that finally gave up. I am very happy with the features (haven't tried the bagel feature yet). Its rather big and bulky, takes up a bit more space than our old one. Toasting is sometimes uneven and one time a slice of bread, not exceptionally thin, got stuck below the part that should hold it up... what a mess... but it generally does its job, just not as well as I expected from DeLonghi

My second delonghi toaster - and I'm not disappointed. My only slight issue is with the toasting level - without turning the dial at all past zero, I find that to be a sufficient level for bread. I used the toaster still set to less than 1 for bagels and can't imagine what the level 6 would ever be used for. Other than that, it's a great looking and fast toaster. Love the click-in crumb trays in the front - it's easy to clean them out. Also a great value for the money.

Was looking for a toaster with 4 slots. This one has been working for almost 2 years.The highest setting is still not enough if you want your bread really dark and crunchy, for example to make bread crumbs. I also had some issues where larger pieces fell down and onto the heater wires. Smells terrible and you have to take the toaster and shake it upside down to get those out.Happy in general.

Toaster works well. But the toaster arrived with small dents and scratches so I suspect it was a used/returned toaster.However, I returned the toaster (my first return with Amazon) and it was surprisingly easy and they quickly shipped me a new one in perfect condition. So despite this negative review initially it has turned out to be a positive for Amazon as I was surprised how easy it was to return items. (They supply a UPS slip for return and UPS picks it up or you can drop it off)SHOP WITH CONFIDENCE USING AMAZON.....will update this review if I have any problems with this new toaster. I say if you like the look of this toaster, take a chance, it's easy to return items using Amazon (much to my surprise)UPDATE.....changed my rating to five stars. No complaints with this toaster, I've used it constantly for six months. (apparently I got lucky since it seems quality control on pretty much all toasters is lacking based on other reviews I've read.)

When our old four-slice toaster stopped toasting one side of the bread, I went online to search for a replacement. I looked at two units from each of Tfal and Krups, but was sold on the specifications of this toaster from DeLonghi, reinforced by the previous reviews. The appearance of the toaster is somewhat reminiscent of the 1950s, though the chrome look is actually somewhat tinny. One of the crumb trays could initially not be reinserted due to an error during assembly, which caused it to catch. This I was able to correct without causing any additional problems. In theory, this toaster has everything my wife and I want in a toaster, namely wide slots, and bagel and defrost settings. Especially useful is the ability to reuse the slot again immediately. Fact is, this is essential to get this toaster to produce anything darker than white. The toaster has six numbers in the range of settings. We started at 3, and had to repeat the exercise twice more to get light-brown toast. A bagel toasted at 5 1/2 still came out white, and required retoasting at 4, when it still was not quite dark enough. All the fancy features are fine in theory, but this one's going back, because it just plain does not produce the goods! Amazon, it would be nice, and a service to customers, if items were listed with their country of manufacture.

Looked at all the expensive $250+ toasters and decided to take a chance on this one, it has performed perfectly! (got free super saver shipping) Put in 4 slices and they all come out toasted the same, defrosts bagels perfectly, clean design and the blue leds are cool. Knobs at first looked like plastic (really smooth finish), but are metal (cast zinc, I think) as advertised. Replaces my 8 yr old 2 slot Delonghi that was crome plated and showed signs of rust (kept it next to the sink), but after 8 yrs it still worked perfectly.

My old DeLonghi finally broke after many years of good service, and I wanted another 4-slice toaster in stainless steel, so naturally I selected this one. It's OK but some earlier reviewers were correct -- it tends to toast the bread a little too light, and I don't mean only frozen bread or bagels. It's adequate and I love how it looks, but I keep it on the highest setting and sometimes have to pop the toast back down for a second time.

This is my second DeLonghi, the other lasted 12 years and still works, just one side element started to go and I will have it fixed and put in motorhome!There is no comparison, these toasters out perform all others and the quality is superb as are the looks!I purchased the latest T-Fal product and it will go to the thrift store, brand new. Had to get my DeLonghi, thats what I get for trying to be cheap…well $80.00 is not cheap so I learned a valuable lesson!!!

Wonderful four slice toaster. Lightweight, good trays below for cleaning crumbs. Delonghi is a great brand as usual. Would buy again.
