Al Dente Red - The Singing Floating Pasta Timer: Will Sing Different Tunes When Pasta is Ready at 3, 7, 9, and 11 Minutes, to be Boiled with Any Pasta in The Pot, Floats in Cold & Hot Boiling Water

I bought four of these charming little guyed to give to three other couples for a small Christmas present at our get together ( of course one for us too!) Al preforms really well as you cook your pasta! Everyone thought this was a unique and helpful gift.

This actually works really well and was a hit at our family's White Elephant gift exchange! After opening, we immediately put a pot of water to boil on the stove. Sure enough, it started singing its song! If you leave it in long enough, it will actually go through all the songs. Time stated for each song was accurate according to package. Young son and fiancé will be fine tuning their "al dente" pasta as they are experimenting with cooking Italian!

Really funny! It definitely does work, although the volume is a bit low. A fun gift!

I originally bought one for myself, but ended up buying two more for gifts. While it doesn’t perfectly stand up in the water, it doesn’t need to and works in any position. It’s fun and quirky, but might keep the instructions handy to know what song plays at what time interval. The one thing is that I wish it played louder - you really have to listen for it.

Not at all worth the price, this should be 10 bucks, max!!! At 4.5 inches tall, this little guy needs a lot of water to "sing" in, requiring a larger pot than I usually use for pasta. Heavier on the bottom because of the music player; but for some reason, it only floats face down. You can still hear the tinny music and the songs are definitely recognizable. But the times are off for all of them. I had my water at a good boil as instructed and all of the times were a minute+ short though. Maybe if I only had it at a simmer it would have been on time? Also, I wonder if you salt your pasta water, would it degrade the instrument over time? Would work well as a White Elephant/ Dirty Santa gift, but I don't think anyone would really use it to time cooking pasta. It would be need to be lower priced though (I'm seeing it at $25!)

I really enjoy when Mr. Al Dente sings in my boiling pasta water! He hits the notes accurately when he sings his songs and my pasta is done!!

My husband loved this, getting it for Christmas. However it’s very disappointing that you can just about the music. I agree with other reviewers that it isn’t worth the amount of money paid if you can’t hear the music. Disappointed.

Me gusta la comida italiana, pero reconozco que el punto al dente me es algo complicado entre mi concepto y el de mi esposo. Con este mafioso al agua es una precision única y muy simpatica. La música es muy clara y de un volumen moderado así que es necesario estar cerca de la olla o sin ruidos alrededor. Gracias

Works perfectly and makes a good gag gift.

It’s been more than a year that we had this and we are so happy to hear the music to know how long the pasta and the eggs are cooking. It made life so easy that we don’t need to be checking every moment but can work on the other room and hear the music to come to lower the heat.. The customer service was excellent and we would definitely bite again.
