Simple “set it and forget it” watering that actually helps
I bought this to make watering more consistent without constantly guessing when my plants are thirsty, and it does exactly that. Once it’s set up, the plant can take what it needs, and my soil stays more evenly moist instead of swinging between dry and drenched. What I like: - Helps smooth out watering, especially if you forget a day or two - Easy to use once it’s in the soil - Nice, clean look that doesn’t feel like plastic hardware sticking out of a pot Good to know: - It works best when it’s buried securely so it doesn’t wobble - You still need to match it to the pot size and the plant’s thirst level (small pots or heavy drinkers may need refills more often) - If your soil is super compacted, loosening it a bit can help the water distribute more naturally If you want lower-maintenance, more consistent watering, this is a great little upgrade.

15y of gardening, heres what I found
Ive been gardening for a very long time now and have used these for 2 years. Heres what I found. 1.They work wonders in large pots. I have to use terracotta pots due to my location. Also for overheating and overwatering prevention. 2. Their radius in large beds is smaller than you would think. 6 inches seems to be the effective radius. Inch 5 and 6 are not as effective until the plant's roots expand. I have seen it help plants a little over 1 ft out... but not very well and for more mature plants. Whereas with spikes have a radius of maybe 3 inches at best. 3. They will drain half the bottle into the soil no matter what. I fill in house pots half way. Im fairly certain it deals with the weight/pressure forcing the water out. 4. These are excellent options for gardening. If you live in a desert then you still need to be diligent. In a square foot method it does relatively fine in the middle of a 4x4. Lastly: Dont use them during the winter and always have some kind of lid. Too much water in the pours and freezing results in a broken container. You see this with terracotta pots as well. The ice expands and essentially pushes it apart. *No cap means mosquitoes.

The perfect garden partner
Living in the south, I have an issue with humidity. When I water the veggies, it just makes everything worse. I found these little pots- just fill with water, they water from below. Roots have grown down instead of up and they are constantly watered. Cut my watering chore in half. My tomatoes are thriving. I bought one set, then bought 2 more. I have them in every raised garden bed. Highly recommend. You could even put a water bottle upside down on top to add extra water if you’re going to be gone an extended period.

Not bad for the price but don’t plan on getting a weekend trip out of them
In large outdoor pots in the sun in summer these didn’t last more than a day, normal summer days max 2 days, but at least it kept me from having to water midday unless it was a super hot, 100+ day. For the price, not bad and seemed good to go for next year in the fall when so pulled them (I bought 7, live in a 5a zone so had to be pulled for freezing)

It really works
I decided to purchase because my sprinklers went out in my garden. I tend to forget to water and thought, why not. I decided to put this next to my summer squash, one by my cucumbers and one in my peppermint pot. We'll during the summer everything still thrived as in addition when I watered, I would fill these up. The peppermint did ok, but I think it's because of the heat and not because of this. I decided to purchase another set and prep my garden again with these. You can't see it sticking out so looks hidden in the garden and hasn't broken, so it's nice and thick. I do like how much water it holds. As for the installation, it was easy. Just dig a hole and keep the top part a bit above, so no dirt or soil goes in and it's done. Then fill it up with water. Works great

They work well
These are just about the right size for a container garden. I used them for my 25 gallon cattle protein tubs and they did well. I am using them for the second year now. I just wish the cork was a terra cotta one instead of rubber because the rubber will break down.

Self-watering pot
I need to fill this every day and that seems off to me. I'm glad the plant is getting water but... I still use it but rely more on regular watering.

Working great!
I'm using these in large pots for my tomato plants. Working great! I fill them with water every 2-3 days and don't worry I over/under watering them. I don't see going a week at a time between waterings like I read (somewhere). Very handy and worth the investment.
