Absolutely outstanding!
Yes Virginia, SHELFY actually does what it claims to do!I live in a home with my mother and sister, so when I told them I ordered a SHELFY they both were incredulous, they couldn't believe I "fell for it".I immediately thought of a meme: Why order SHELFY? We have something in the fridge that does the same thing. (Insert photo of opened box of baking soda )This is obviously a joke, but SHELFY is far from a laughing matter....this thing has already paid for itself in three months' time.We immediately noticed a complete lack of odor in our fridge. We run a pretty tight ship as far as cleanliness is concerned, but food odors appear eventually, no matter what. Now that SHELFY is our fridge guardian the stinky specters have been busted and busting makes us feel good!If SHELFY only kept odors at bay this effectively it would be worth the price in my opinion, but it does loads more. For example, how would like your food to last longer? I am pleased to say that their claims are completely true. Before we had this incredible gadget, we threw away vegetables every single week. Our compost pile loved it, but our wallets didn't.The application offers a host of additional benefits; however, I will admit that I haven't explored it enough to weigh in here, however I plan to learn it backwards and forwards and once I do, I will update this review. In closing, the juice is worth the squeeze!SHELFY is cooler and much more useful than that creepy ELF that keeps popping up!

Excellent clean technology
This is an amazing product...that can help keep your produce and food fresher for longer..while keeping your fridge cleaner smelling at the same time. It also can alert you if your fridge is left open, tell you what temperature your fridge is at at any moment, and can even tell you how often and how long you opened your fridge for, to better manage energy use. And it is a clean and re-usable technology as far as I know, that only needs to be washed every so often with water or a damp cloth I believe. (I haven't done that yet as its only every 3 months or so I think.) and...the charge lasts quite a long time, so you only have to USB charge it every 3 weeks or so. So very easy to use by all accounts, and does an exceptional job for what it does. Now while I do not keep much produce in my fridge I cannot comment on how much difference it makes there, but my fridge definitely smells cleaner, and super clean. and the filter itself has a slightly fresh smell to it. (sortof like baking soda but slightly fresher ? a neutral but fresh smelling smell.)The only downside here is that when the battery did die, it took maybe 6 or 8 hours to charge, and it showed the temperature as like 74 degrees...so when I looked in the app later I was baffled by why my fridge temperature was 74 degrees on a random day....until I realized that that was the time I was charging it. So I am not sure if you can sortof turn it off when charging, as I had it on, but its not a big deal. (It also produces a little ozone or ionization, such as what my air purifier does, so I would perhaps open a window or have some ventilation when you are charging it, as too much ozone/ionization can be bad. In my case I just turned off the ion function on my air purifier which was likely enough to keep me under any bad threshold...as my air purifier likely pumps out more ionization/ozone than this small device does.) So I doubt getting a whiff of ionized air when you open the fridge is going to be harmful, as I doubt even having it on when charging for a few hours was harmful either. As its likely such a small amount pumped out...as to be no issue effectively there. (enough to keep your food fresher - but not harm your lungs.)My only other minor gripe is that the app seems to have a pre-determined standard temperature at which it will alert you, if your fridge is left open. So one thing that annoyed me a bit was when my fridge was left open, but just on a crack....I thought this thing would alert me. But it did not. But...I learned the reason why is that even with my fridge on a slight crack like that for about 2 hours, is that the temperature still had not risen up to the dangerous point (it was getting close, but not yet reached that point.) So surprisingly my fridge stayed cold enough, even on a crack...for like 2 hours. But I do prefer to keep it on the coldest fridge settings, so if there was a way to pick a precise temperature, that would be better. ( I could be wrong, but I dont think I see any such option.) It just will alert you at I guess 42.8 degrees or something like that. Mine was still only at 42.6 when I finally noticed it after 2 hours. But I usually keep it at 36? so it took a while for it to get to that point. So if it had an option to set the exact temperature alert...I would have at least known about it like 1.5 hours earlier, but....the food was likely fine as it did not exceed the problematic temperature yet.Even with those 2 minor gripes, I would still easily give this 4.5 stars....and round up to 5 stars...as I do trust it will go off when I need it to, and the charging only once every 3 weeks is no big deal. I also trust that my food will last a little longer, therefore saving $$ on food delivery trips, and I love how I can see the temperature of my fridge at any time, just to make sure. (and now that I think about it, I can just see in the app if the temperature in the fridge is increasing at any time, thus showing a likely cracked open fridge, even before any alert is sent.)Bottom line: this is an amazing item, that can serve both health+economic purposes, is pretty easy to use and maintain, and can ultimately make your life a little bit easier. I would definitely recommend it for its various benefits, and I am super happy with it, despite its quirks.

Your new roommate lives in the fridge. And it's judging you.
When I stumbled upon this "Shelfy Smart Refrigerator Device | Extends Food Freshness and Reduces Food Waste | Removes Bad Odors | IoT Technology | Photocatalytic and Washable Filter | USB-C Charging" I was intrigued and wanted to know more, so I read through the item description a bit and then had it shipped to me. It has been an interesting experience so far. This gadget works as an in-fridge quality control expert, and it is not at all afraid to point out your flaws and shortcomings as the human responsible for the status of the refrigerator. It allegedly extends the shelf life of fresh foods while reducing/eliminating foul odors inside the refrigerator. The device monitors the temperature as well as the number of times the refrigerator door is opened and closed. The compiled info is viewable in a simply formatted summary, and the device gives you a grade/rating/score to tell you how your fridge is doing. In all, it's pretty comprehensive and can offer a reasonable amount of insight regarding the status of the fridge. My personal take, however, is that this device is the most judgmental non-human I've ever encountered, and I don't always appreciate some of its feedback! Yeah, I get it, Shelfy. I opened the fridge 27 times on Saturday. We had groceries to put away and needed to prep for Sunday's luncheon, so the fridge got opened more than usual. Get over it and stop judging me! XDPROS: > Easy to set up.There is little set you have to do to set this device up the first time. You just install the app and connect it to your network. Just be sure to configure things after you have it up and running. ;-) > Easy to use.Once you have the app installed, set up your preferences. Things like which "mode" you want to use, for example. I personally use the ECO mode because otherwise the unit burns through its battery power too fast for my liking. > Easy to clean/maintain.The washable filter is pretty awesome. It doesn't much LOOK like a filter - it strongly resembles some kind of undersea creature, a species of coral perhaps, made out of some kind of white plastic that closely resembles Styrofoam. It's so simple to clean though, and the app tells you how many days until the filter needs to be cleaned again, along with a few other maintenance details, like when to do a full fridge cleaning.CONS: > Battery charging.Charging is an overnight process for me. Plugging in the device at bedtime does not always take it to a full charge by morning in my experience, and I don't bother trying to recharge it if it can't be on the charger for at least 6-8 hours. Often, I put it on the charger in the late evening, but must leave it charging until the middle of the following day before it reaches 100%. The most energy efficient mode is CRISPER, which uses the least amount of battery power, but CRISPER mode is intended for use when the device is inside the crisper drawer, and I don't generally keep fruits/veggies in mine, so that's not particularly useful for me. The most battery power is used in PERFORMANCE mode, but it really is a serious battery hog. The couple of times I've used PERFORMANCE mode, I felt like the device spent more time on the charger than in the fridge, so I dropped it back down to ECO. In ECO mode I have to recharge after a couple of weeks, rather than after a couple of days. > Battery life. The battery does take a long time to charge, 6-8 hours (or more), and even then it seems like I'm always having to pull it out to recharge it for a day. The devie is "smart" but doesn't seem to recognize that I've taken it out of the fridge and placed it on the charger very quickly because sometimes the "historical" data on the fridge reflects the ambient temperature in the room where I have it charging. I promise my fridge is NEVER at 76F, but according to Shelfy, it was recently, so my fridge rating went from EXCELLENT to POOR. Yeah, that part is annoying. The device can tell me that the battery is charging, but it can also record an incorrect ambient temperature because it didn't know I was physically moving it from the inside of the fridge to another room where the charger is. Don't judge me for your mistake, Shelfy. Get it together! XD > Price. This is a fairly expensive "gadget" for the fridge. Currently priced at $149.99 (which includes a 17% discount off the full price of $179.99), this device is designed to help save you money. If you don't have a Shelfy in your fridge right now, but you regularly toss out $10-$15 worth of produce each week, it wouldn't take very long for the device to "pay for itself." At only $10 waste per week, it would take just under 4 months to fully reoup the front end cost of the device and begin seeing a return on the investment. YMMV, of course.FINAL THOUGHTS:I'm pretty satisfied with this device and its performance for the most part. My fridge didn't suffer from horrible smells before trying it out, so I can't really say that it's made a huge difference in that regard, and I honestly don't know if it has extended the life of my fresh produce, but I rarely purchase more than what I plan to eat, so I don't often have to throw out spoiled fruit and veggies. The biggest negative for me is definitely tied to the battery. Between battery life and charging time, there's loads of room for improvement I'd think. I could also handle a bit less criticism from the app, especially when it is judging me based on info that doesn't pertain to my fridge. This is an interesting gadget that I am happy to have and will continue using. Despite my semi-sarcastic feelings regarding the critical "judginess," I do like the device and recommend it to others wanting to improve their fridge's conditions and performance. In my opinion, this is a worthwhile investment, but better battery performance would increase my rating from 4-stars to 5.

Skeptical but on board
So, I was skeptical when I ordered, but overall I'm happy I took the chance. I buy fruits and vegetables that no one else in the house eats, so they can take me a while to go through. I have a lot of waste because of this sadly. I've been super frustrated with berries this season, they seem to be molding the day I bring them home. This little gadget charged pretty quickly and I popped it in the fridge. I did some reading and it says to keep them as close to the unit as you can, so I did. I am able to go through my produce before it wilts and molds now and that is a nice difference. I haven't noticed any stale fridge smells since using this either. Maybe its because the produce is staying fresher, or maybe it clears odors, I don't know, but the fridge freshness is a noticeable change.
