I bought this for my Mom as she has parkinson and her hands shake so much she can't even feed herself. It took her a few times to get used to the weight so don't give up at the first try. She loves it and she's able to feed herself with minimal shaking!!!! It gives her the freedom to feed herself and she feels good about herself now, Its a confidence builder. I like the rubber handle as its easy to grip because her fingers are sort of contracted. I'm so happy I bought this spoon for her!!!

Was hoping that the utensils would have a little more weight to them. Purchased for my mother who has a neurologic disease that causes tremors and loss of coordination. She seems to feel that the utensils help her........especially the nice wide rubberized grips.

This is very helpful for those who have difficulty using normal eating utensils. My spouse has Parkinsons and with the extra weight, he is better able to eat on his own. Although he is right handed, I bend it so he can use it with his left hand, since the tremors are more severe in his right hand. It really does help.

I bought this for my boyfriend's Mother who has shaking in her right hand and arm from the Alzheimer's medication she takes. Once I showed her how to rock it on the food, she can now use it and not feel like a child that has to have her food cut up for her. It also relieves the care takers of another task. es, we have to show her every once in awhile how to use it again. The weight does help stop the shaking/tremors.

Oxo good grips is the Only silverware I will buy for my son. Handle is large and textured for comfortable secure grip. Can be bent to allow easier angle for eating. Weight in handle helps minimize tremors. Do not soak in water or the weighted core will start sliding out.
