Used these bobbers with a 5 and 7 year old in a boat and on a dock. Gramma and grandpa got hit a couple of times but no hooks. They work great! Highly recommend.

The bobbers are designed with a leader of line with a pre-tied weighted jig which any form of bait can be attached. When the bobber stop is reeled to the tip of the rod the hook is concealed in the bobber base, this reduces accidental hook injuries during casting. When the bobber lands on the water the weighted jig sinks to level of the bobber stop. A good ingenious design for those learning to fish, or with any disabilities where casting might be a concern.

I bought these on a whim for my son's sub scout fishing derby. We both used them on our rods. I carefully watched them to see how they were working and sure enough, they worked as planned. When you cast, watch the little ring and bobber and you can actually see the bobber float back up to the ring so the line is dropping out. We didn't have issues with bait getting stuck inside. I suppose if you did you could take some pliers to bend your hook a bit, but we did ok. We have several bites and he caught one fish. Many kids only caught one or zero fish so ours seemed to be on par. As a mom of 3 boys under 6, we'll be buying more!!!

Took my youngest fishing on Fathers Day. Broke out these fancy bobbers for her as she gets a little wild in her casting. Within 30 minutes, while my attention was on my own line as I swapped out lures, I was popped on the back of the head by her bobber. I just know that if it were not for the way that the bobber hides the hook, I would have had to go to the ER to have it removed. Worth every penny.

Great product for kids to fish with live bait. I’ve used them for years now with my two boys. I would highly recommend re-tying both end of the line as the knots they come with slip easily, I use higher quality line when doing so.

Perfect for teaching your 4 year old how to fish. As long as you tie the line directly to the black ring you won't have an issue. Using terminal tackle or clips or swivels will not allow these to work as the weight of those are more than the attached weighted hook that comes with these. First two cast my 4 year old made and landed two small panfish. Perfect. Also the hook is about as safe as you can get.

These are great for kids to learn to fish. It will help keep the hook from getting caught on anyone near the kid that is casting. I would recommend these.
