It does heat up to a good temperature for an effective curl. It does take some skill and practice to get used to it also comes with an eyelash comb of sorts in order to help protect your eyelid or base of your eyelashes from becoming overheated. I recommend this, mostly for curling your lashes into your a false lashes for excellent blending.

I love having this with me on the go. It’s not much bigger than a pen and is perfect to keep in your makeup bag or purse. This heats up fast making it very convenient to use. It also has auto shut off incase you forget that you turned it on. It has multiple setting for different lash thickness which is nice, but it can get hot. I use this at the 85 degree setting and have to be careful not to touch my eye lids. Compared to a regular curler, I feel like the heat helps hold the curl longer. This doesn’t give you the sharp curve that a manual pinch curler does but it does give you a more natural look of having longer lashes. I pair this with mascara most of the time so I love that it comes with a mascara comb. This set really helps bring out your lashes without having to use lots of makeup or false lashes. This would make a nice gift or stocking stuffer for sure.

This product arrived in 3 days and comes with everything exactly as advertised - PLUS it comes with a card that states lifetime warrantee and the instructions and video make it super simple to follow.My humble opinion is to do this before you drink coffee so your hands are not shaking. It's a nice little tool but easy to burn your eye if you are not paying attention.Recently I got an eye lash cleaning kit on Amazon and this device is a really nice follow up to that. Once your eyelashes are clean, you can use this eyelash curler with greater effects that the mechanical one (often that pulls out lashes - this one does not). The instructions show mascara should use before and after the curling but be careful not to melt the mascara. I used the lowest temp and that worked well. This is one case where you really do want to read the manual AND watch the video for best and safest results. Also - look at your mascara and if it has a lot of cheap, plastic ingredients, it is more likely to melt at the high temps. Using a high end, high quality mascara is worth it here.Love the little gold heart button that changes the temperature - it feels like a high end device and is super easy to toss in a cosmetic bag for travel. The other major design curler, the clamp style, tends to leave a "crimp" in her eyelashes.This is a very effective curler, but I'd suggest comparison shopping on Amazon, as it appears that several vendors sell the same device.
