Why didn’t I buy this years ago????
I was so tired of paying $12 a month for storage of my iPhone photos through the phones manufacturer. And even then it did not work all that well because when my phone crashed a few months ago, I still lost somewhere around 1000 photos. I figured I’d give this a try to hopefully download all the photos on my phone, lock them in a safe place, and then go through and delete thousands of them off of my phone to free up space and save money on storage.I’ll start out with saying that the cost of this flash drive is equivalent to about one and a half months storage. That makes it an excellent deal if it actually works as they say it does. Well, I can tell you that it does work. I’m incredibly happy with it.Initially, I was hesitant to use this because I did not want to download some random Chinese app. But at last I did it and I’m glad I did. I had 7928 photos and videos on my phone. It took about three hours to download everything to this thumb drive, but it was simple to do. After downloading the app, it’s essentially plug and play. You insert the thumb drive and it asks if you want to download your photos, your videos or everything. I selected everything, put my phone down and walked away. I would check on it occasionally to make sure it was still working and as I stated, after three hours, all my photos were downloaded and I was good to go. They give you a USB adapter that plugs into the thumb drive and your computer. I verified all the photos and videos downloaded correctly and now I am deleting photos from my phone.I do suggest that you make sure your phone is fully charged before you start this if you have a lot of photos like I did. When I started out, my phone was at 65%. After downloading the last of my photos, it was at 6% when I finished. I wasn’t sure what would’ve happened if my phone would’ve died before it completed downloading everything, but I made it with a little bit of juice left to spare. The thumb drive appears to be well made and not just cheap flimsy plastic. It feels like aluminum, is a great value for the money when you look at what it saves you in storage fees, and I felt it did a pretty quick job of downloading everything considering I had nearly 8000 photos and videos and everything downloaded in under three hours. If you’re hesitant to try this, trust me I was also. I definitely recommend you give it a shot, it’s well worth it and I’m happy that I took a risk and did it.

Works as expected
This little storage piece is perfect for freeing up a bit of space. Easy enough to use and has plenty of storage. It works with my iPhone which was what I really wanted. Overall it’s small so it may get lost easier, but it does come with a little clasp if you wanted to attach it to something. Overall it works as I would expect.

USC-C does not work
It looks well built and I like the design. The USB-C port is not recognized by my iPad. Only the lighting port is recognized using my iPhone 13. I need both ports to work so I am returning the unit.

Worked Well
As for all devices like this, make sure to format and a virus scan before putting into your expensive devices. It worked as expected.

Wish it worked
I downloaded the app on my iPhone. My photos quickly transferred to the app, but they won't transfer to the drive. It freezes at 20, but the "20" never showed up on the USB drive. I tried to transfer a few items at a time, but the app doesn't let you select which photos to add to the USB drive. I could be doing something wrong, the app (UBackup) has a 2.3/5 rating, so maybe not. I gave it two stars because the quality is good. The USB doesn't feel like cheap metal and it comes with plastic protective covers for the connectors. Also, because it can be used with multiple devices and comes with a connector to transfer files to a computer.

Great for photos!
We have four kids (14, 15, 19, 20) plus 8 nieces and nephews, so I have so so many pictures on my phone. This device gave me back so much storage space. I transferred over 1500 older pictures of all of the kiddos. It's easy to use, works very well, and can be used on different phones. It's definitely handy!
