Bad support, fan dying. 1 year.
Fan died after about a year, support so bad that they told me to deal with the hardware issue by running a software update. The bearings are literally grinding their life away and they think a software update will fix it .. not a great experience.

Fast Laptop, Stylish design.
I wanted a laptop for 3D CG animation and content creation, and was looking for high performance with the thinnest lightest form factor I could find. This laptop ticked all the boxes. It is lightning fast and runs 3D content creation apps like a dream.Haven't used it for games, although I did install Call of Duty Black OPs 4 (which was available free as a special offer from MSI at the time of my purchase) but had to remove it and re-install windows after the installer installed some libraries which prevented my content creation apps running properly. The build quality is very good (much to my relief after reading a few negative reviews about this) with only the tiniest amount of give in the middle of the vent to the rear of the keyboard if you press it really hard (and i mean really hard). Considering how light and wafer thin this laptop is, I don't consider this to be a quality issue at all, just a practical reality of its slender form and its cooling requirements. It looks elegant and stylish, and I have no fear of embarrassment taking it meetings with design conscious clients. It is totally silent with light usage (web browsing, word processing), with heavier usage (3d gpu/CPU rendering) the fan noise is acceptable and not noticable any louder than previous laptops I have owned.Battery life with light usage is about 5 hours for me but for heavy use I would use mains power. The only minor complaint was on first setup there was a windows 10 copy/paste issue. This was resolved by doing a factory reset.Great laptop. Recommended.

Fantastic laptop
I love this laptop. Its very hard to upgrade though - google it! - but I've had no real issues with it otherwise. Its beautiful and light - perfect for gaming on the go (or just in the lounge room!)Some reviews I've watched have complained about the laptop not sturdy enough, but not in my experience. Its only 1.8cms thick, so its not a brick. But when you look at the features, and the styling - I think its just the best gaming laptop you can buy for the money. And its great for VR too - works well with my Vive. One thing though it comes with Norton Antivirus pre-installed. It caused an issue that prevented the laptop rebooting after I installed some software. I had to revert to factory settings, so I could replace it with a difference Antivirus and start again.I'm a computer professional, so i knew what to do, and I have seen Norton do this before - but a novice user would have sent it back.I also was not impressed at the bloatware that comes with new laptops nowadays. I spent the first few hours with the laptop uninstalling junk.

Good but noisy
Hi, already I own a GL62 Apache Pro and bought this GL63 as a replacement for an old Acer laptop. I have to say, after the GL62 this is a bit of a disappointment for two reasons. Firstly compared to the GL62 on the same 'sport' setting, the GL63 fans are very noisy (not such a problem if you wear headphones though). Secondly the wi-fi card is really feeble. The GL62 in the same position in the room on running on the 5GHz network worked fine, but the GL63 really struggles. Its fine in the same room as the router (~150Mbs) but I get about 15 Mbs in the study (the GL62 manages 20-30). So if you intend using it where the wifi signal is not really strong, I suggest you try a different model.

When it was running, it was great
I brought this machine the same time as my boss and I had nothing but problems with it. First the USB wouldn't supply enough power for my phone, then I plugged in my mouse and after this the trackpad stopped working (I work in IT and asked my colleagues to make sure it wasn't just me being stupid with the settings and none of us could fix it). The fans also run very loud when doing menial tasks such as excel. That being said when it worked for the first few days beyond the loud fans the machine was fantastic, it played everything I wanted it to without any issues. It just left me with a sour taste after spending so much on it, as you expect it to work.

Disappointed
Received this laptop broken. It was a very bad black Friday deal. Hassle of returning and no more laptops deals... Disappointment

The screen parameters are a lie
If you want a 144 Hz screen and are interested in this model, look somewhere else. There's not official info about this, other than giant "144 Hz screen" and a tiny "optional" below it. In addition, the battery is a joke. On automatic performance setting, 60% of the battery got drained in the time it took for me to wait for a pizza. The only on-screen thing at the time was Domino's tracker. However, the performance is excellent, new games have no trouble running in 60 fps. Two things to mention for new users:- update SteelSeries software, otherwise you won't be able to change the LED keyboard layout,- immediately change the resolution to 1980x1080, because the native one is 4K and no laptop can support that properly, especially with 17" screen.I complained a bit, but overall I'm satisfied with the purchase, because the rig is fast and dependable (at least when plugged in). It also is made of some alloys, not plastic, so it gives that "elite" vibe. Nice.
