So I decided to renovate my home office from tile floors to laminate. To save some cash I did it myself. While I am highly impressed with the installation of the floors, I did not think about the transition from door to floor. I did not use the metal base of this product and there was no adhesive included (and I had no idea what type of adhesive to use). I chose to cut the transition strip and insert it between the door and floor.I thought the quality of this transition piece was great. It’s a sturdy metal which I was able to cut with a hacksaw because I was afraid to use a jigsaw. Like I said, beginner here so there’s some things one just should not try. It was surprisingly easy to cut. I definitely had to put some muscle into it but I wasn’t expecting to be able to cut it at all, but I did. I believe the major issue for me was not allowing a large enough gap between the floor and the door. It was about 5/8inch as required for the laminate installation but it wasn’t a wide enough gap for the brackets on the transition strip to fit snugly between the door and floor. The strip sits on top of the floor which isn’t appealing if you get on your knees with a flashlight and look for it. For normal walking and entering/exiting my door so far it has worked fine. I would say beginner friendly, easy to use and worth the purchase for any level.

My father uses a motorized wheelchair to get around, and the front door was a bit to high for easy access in and out of the house. While the wheelchair could handle the 1.25" lip, my father could not. We were able to install this very easily, and it has made a world of difference. The quality is excellent, and very well made.I highly recommend.

I guess the price goes along with pretty much any hardware being expensive these days. $40 (Sept. 2024) are not easy to swallow for a metal strip. The quality is good though, and if done right, fitment will be as well. I used a cutting disc to shorten it to length. Looks good and professional, and provide a proper transition between concrete and vinyl flooring. Five stars from me.

My ebikes and escooter as well as the pizza oven cart come in and out through a rear door out to my deck. Coming in there is about a 1.25" transition that catches the wheel when rolling it in. The smaller the wheel the worse the transition requiring a lift to get it over. This threshold ramp solves that problem and anything rolls smoothly right over the threshold transition. For security I opted to drill several holes and screw it in .

This transition is perfect for what I needed, I'm using it on a wheelchair ramp I built for my mother-in-law that uses a walker to get inside the house, I wanted the base to have a smooth transition because her walker has wheels on it. Not only does it work perfectly now, but it also looks even better and helps the ramp match the front door that's painted black. Great for the price!

This was easy to install, fits well, is the accurate size as described, and looks nice.
