Excellent, well made product
Purchased the gel pack to help relieve pain from an ankle injury picked up as a result of marathon training and football & have to say so far I’m really pleased. After being on my feet all day nice to have the choice for first ice to help take the swelling down then heat to help relieve the pain. The strap to help secure the pack is really useful. Highly recommended if you’re looking for something similar

Easy to use, does its job
Bought for my wife, who has achilles tendinitis in her ankles. Bought the double pack. Its a gel system. But still flexible, after freezing, so moulds around the required area. Can be used as cold, hot or just compression. Been using 3 days, and has relieved the symptoms already. Comes with a pouch for the pack and velcro strap. She is more than happy with the product, and its results todate.

Very good for applying cold to my ankle
I have this ankle you see. Its been diagnosed as a torn ligament and a lump the size of a walnut has sprung up on my ankle bone, God knows how it happened, it was just there one day and hurting like hell when i walked. (it was the peroneal brevis if that means anything to anyone other than a doctor). RICE I was told. Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevate. Rest wasnt a problem, thats practically all I do. Elevation? Feet up? Again I already do a lot of that. So Ice ice...? I know, a bag of frozen peas, or two bags to be on the safe side. Id heard about other people using this, I was well read, I knew things.... After about 4 days of tring to balance a bag of peas of the side of my foot by twisting it round and sitting in a weird position and the bag falling off and slipping around I thouhgt "I cant be the only person with this problem, Ill go on t'internet and see whats what. And this is what I found. If I could have invented something to apply ice to my ankle in that particular spot, this would have been it. Its perfect for the job whilst still retaining flexibility for other parts of the body. Sorry to say my problem has not gone away and Im off tomorrow for a cortisone injection. Lifes a bitch but its better with the help of littel things like this.

Works very well ideal to have in your first aid kit.
I bought this to help my recovery from a broken ankle. Its excellent. There is a Velcro fastener and you can adjust the fitting so that it fits perfectly to your limb. Ice packs or alternate hot cold compressions are often recommended for injuries , especially sports injuries however, anyone that has attempted to hold a pack of frozen peas on a swollen ankle will know that its is difficult frustratingly difficult to keep in place. This is easily adjustable and can be kept in place with the Velcro fastener. I have now lost this item to my sporty son who seems to get frequent injures. To use a hot compress the instructions are to heat in the microwave for 30 seconds, not sure if it is my microwave or not but I find I need to heat for 1 minute, however this does not detract from the effectiveness of this item. To use as cold compress , just pop into the freezer. My only recommendation would be that this item is supplied with a spare gel pack to allow easy use of cold/hot treatments.

Works OK but uncomfortable
It works OK as a ice pack, but it is very rigid when taken from the freezer, so difficult to wrap around knee or heel and by the time it softens up it has also warmed up. Also the fabric case it goes into is flimsy and velcro strap very uncomfortable.

Fantastic for a broken ankle
Can highly recommend this product. It has made caring for my broken ankle much easier. We were using an old gel ice pack without its own cover by wrapping it in a cloth which my Husband had to then try to tie in place. In the early days after my injury this was quite a scary experience as it was often difficult to tighten it gently and adjust the tension with the cloth. The gelpacks direct gel pack has completely changed the process. It is very soft even after hours in the freezer. It fits into the cover well and even fitting on oneself, it is easy to gently wrap the pack in its cover around the injury and then tension with the strap.

A god-send for broken ankle recovery
This freezes well and is then flexible enough to wrap around the ankle as shown in the illustration. The wide band of elastic means it can really be wrapped, and pulled as tight as necessary. It proved to be extremely useful for me. It’s still in the freezer a year later, and gets used from time to time, especially in hot weather. The fabric is soft and comfortable.
