HofnerViolin Bass Case - Black

Case is sturdy and has a nice weight to it. My Hofner Ignition fits perfectly in the case, the body in particular fitting rather snugly. It definitely feels secure. There is a small compartment inside that the guitar's bridge would lie over, but I couldn't imagine what you could fit in there. (Maybe picks?)Though the picture on this site doesn't seem to show it, the case does actually come with a three-numbered combination lock. However, the lock does not seem to work on my case. It will still lock, just that any combination will work, regardless of what you've set the combination as. Might just be a fault with mine though, as I haven't seen anyone else complain about this. (Though most of the other reviews complain about a lack of such a lock all together.)Despite that, I'm glad I made the purchase. It's the right size for my bass and feels very secure, despite the faulty combination lock.

Arrived after some problems with ups' they post cards without any imformation on it so you don't know who the parcel is for? Which is a problem when your living in a shared house' in the end i had to put my phone number on the door! The case its self is built well an the hofmer fits well into it! The only gripe i have is sliding catch sometimes flips open! But the case is secured by three clips so it would'nt just open!

The case does the job. No Hofner logo but I knew that before buying. There are just 3 clasps on the entire case and it's not lockable either so it loses a star for that. Otherwise I'm happy with it.

A lovely fit for the Hofner Violin bass forming a very compact unit. Fairly lightweight though in construction and the internal compartment could have been made larger.

Didn't fit properly. The bass is stretching it to make it fit. Takes ages to get the guitar out of the case. Leaving it untuned. Taken the fun off playing when you feel like it.

One should check guitar size first (how?) as on placing my guitar in it, the Hofner case was too small!!!

Got to agree with the low ratings, this is cheap and nasty. My HVB didn't fit properly because the heal on the neck was catching on the small storage bin in the case. Managed to remove it and re locate it but come on should I be having to do this? also the catches are ultra cheap and don't fill me with any confidence in keeping the lid shut properly. I once owned an original HVB in the late seventies and bought a case to go with that and it was tons better than this pile of junk. Trouble is I don't know if there are any alternatives to be had and you would think with it being a genuine Hofner case it would be fit for purpose.
