We largely used this product after feeds to keep him upright and avoid reflux. it also helped to put him y=to sleep as we would rock the bouncer with our feet and once he knocked out, we immediately shifted him to his crib. It has definitely saved us buying expensive swings and cradles. The design is colorful, the animals and music on the bar provided enough entertainment and they are cleverly designed to not hit the baby in case he swings it violently. However, it is not easy for a young baby to pull the toys for music, so it will be an almost useless function until they are at least 4 months of age.It arrives flat assembled and is easy to put together. However, they do not provide any batteries which I think is a pain as with that price, they could do that at least so we could start using the product. The last thing you want to do with a little baby is run around getting batteries. It also has the calm function which is nothing but light vibrating, its not enough to really put the baby to sleep and in my opinion, really doesnt do much.After 6 months of constant usage every day a few hours, it has now gone back into this box. It still looks pretty new other than the straps which have started showing wear. A good purchase for any newborn even if to just keep upright after a feed. I have now moved to the infant to toddler rocker chair but still feel it was a better idea to have gone for this rocker rather than the other one. I previously bought a swing from another retailer which was three times the price of this and my little boy, currently two months old, is not impressed with it so far. I thought I would try this one and I am so happy that I did.At first my little one was not so impressed but now he seems to be much calmer when he is placed into it when he is getting a bit agitated whilst waiting for his warm milk. I put him into it in the kitchen so he can watch me rather then leave him on his own on his play mat or in his moses basket. Don't get me wrong, there are days when he will cry lots whilst in it, but there is usually a rumble in his tummy by that point rather then a fault or dislike of the chair itself!The vibration part is a good added extra which is sometimes liked and sometimes not, so it is a good option to have if you want it. Our little one wasn't a huge fan of the chair as a newborn but it has come to be a firm favourite from around 6 weeks onwards. When she is in a playful mood she will sit in the bouncer and coo at the owl. At 12 weeks she isn't yet able to pull the mushroom to activate the sounds so we do this for her. The toys are giving her plenty of target practice as she is learning to reach for and grasp objects. Provided that she is in a reasonably cheerful mood she is happy to sit in the chair whilst I do a few chores in the morning and whilst we eat dinner in the evening.The chair is comfy and she will often fall asleep if I bounce her in it (she doesn't yet bounce herself in the chair). I'm not convinced that the 'soothing vibrations' add a great deal - she seems indifferent to the vibration function which is fine with me as batteries are expensive. That said, I have probably used that feature for around half an hour each day and the batteries have not yet run out. I also believe that the chair helps her with her reflux as it sits her up at a comfortable angle and often pop her in it after feeds.I think that she finds the owl a little confrontational if she's overstimulated and tired and we often remove the arm in the evening - this is very easily removed and replaced. The chair is very good quality, sturdy with a comfy seat that is not too upright, the chair bounces easily and has a vibrate function easily operated with a sliding switch. The activity bar has a removable plastic apple teether, a removable plastic leaf rattle on a ring and a non-removable owl which, when pulled, alternately hoots and plays a short burst of various nursery rhymes. The bar is very easy to remove if necessary and I don't find that I need to remove it to get her in and out. My daughter seems to find the seat comfortable and she really likes the owl on the activity bar and smiles at it a lot. The downsides would be that the music played by the owl is a very short burst and it is a large bulky item which takes up a lot of space for transport / storage.
