Why did you pick this product vs others?:I don't know or understand how these pouches work, but they are magic. Absolutely astonishing that, in less than 24 hours, they can clear my water where I've failed to using traditional methods. My driftwood was boiled for hours before adding it to the tank. Weekly water changes still could not keep up with the tannins still being released. I pulled the driftwood and boiled them for another 6 hrs, changing my stock pot water every hour. Still more tannins. I decided to try something else & the reviews on this sounded promising. Within minutes of inserting these pouches into my filtration, I could see a top layer of clear water. When I returned home from work late that night, my tank was mostly clear but a little hazy & I was concerned. By morning, the water was beautiful (18 hours). The parameters were perfect. My plants & fish are thriving and I've even discovered baby hillstream loaches (they were not noticable in the tinted waters)! The instructions were no good & I disposed of the pouches after use (soaking in a bleach water solution did not sound safe to me) but I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again if needed.

Estoy muy contento con el producto, yo estaba batallando mucho con los taninos en mi acuario y el producto en 2 días dejo el agua totalmente cristalina. Igual que purigen pero mucho mas barato. Lo recomiendo ampliamente, volvere a comprar.

This stuff is great! It keeps the water very clear, and improved the water quality.

Update - this product did remove the tannins from my aquarium water. I will change my rating from a 2 to a 4. I won't give a 5 because of the labeling issue. It should be corrected for future customers.I just got this. I was very annoyed when I got my product. The directions for use where not at all correct. It seemed I bought the wrong product or I was shipped the wrong product. Thank goodness I read through the reviews and learned I wasn't crazy. Others found the same thing. I hope Amazon is passing this on the the manufacturer. This should be immediately corrected.I have a lot of tannins in my aquarium. I will give this some time to see how well it works. I will provide an update. I giving it a low satisfaction rating for now.

Good product and reasonable price

The media could not be loaded. Oh, I definitely recommend seven hours after you use. My tank is completely clear thank you so much. I will purchase again in the future and for those buying you do not leave it in your filtration system any longer than what it takes to clear your water once it’s clear you have to take it out! I’m only letting you know that because they do not add any kind of instructions whatsoever except for using strips which why that’s on there I don’t know because these are not strips. It’s a resin that’s in a bag you put it in your filtration system once it’s filtered out all the brown Out of your water. You remove it put it in bleach water, and you can reuse it after you read it very very, very, very, very well.

What's to say?It works like Purigen.It's 6 times the quantity of Purigen at 1/4 the cost.Normally a bag of 100ml Purigen costs about $10 for 100ml.With this you are paying $16 for 600ml! Update: (Has gone up to $18 now.)Now one difference is that it comes in 2 of 300 ml bags which can be hard to fit in smaller filters.But buy a few fine opening, reusable filter bags for cheap and empty some of this packet into those and you've got the equivalent of 6 100ml bags of Purigen.If you have larger filters, you can stop purchasing multiple bags as each one of these reusable bags is three times the size of a single Purigen packet and you get two of them!I love Purigen and it's ability to fine clean my tank water to crystal clarity. But what I've always hated about it was the very high cost of it. This product is so much cheaper then Seachem charges for Purigen and far more useable quantities with zippered bags!I have been using this for over two months now in my 3 aquariums and it has worked just like Purigen and as well!I have recharged this product as I did Purigen. It is rechargeable with bleach soaking and then anti-chlorine dosing. (Prime is the Seachem product for anti-chlorine) and standard chlorine bleach will do. It does seem to take about two full days (instead of Purigen's one day) for the ammonia soak to clean them out as they have more material in each bag. And then a day of heavy Prime dosing finishes it. Have recharged some of these 3 times so far. Each time they are recharged, they perform a little less and stay a little browner just like with Purigen. And unlike Purigen, you get reusable, zippered bags that you can reuse over and over and so you can split some of the quantity into smaller bags for smaller filters.I have already reordered some of this and will likely continue to do so if it continues to be available at the current quantities and cost. As good as Purigen and a lot cheaper!
