Now I am not able to understand, they have removed the audio jack from the mobile and given type c or lighting, now there will be more waste than before, because it was removed when the phone had both and one had to buy separate cable for iPhone, separate for type c and separate for type micro, this was done for that but now with the removal of audio jack, there is more purchase of splitter and OTG, due to which the waste has increased even more, the companies are not even giving that much battery backup, believe me the waste is more now than what it was before, every company should give an extra port for type c or lighting audio jack in the phone instead of 3.5 audio, so that we can use our old headphones and earphones and at the time of ordering the phone there should be an option that which charging jack is needed with type c or lighting and which audio jack is needed type c or lighting or 3.5 mm, this will be a better option for every customer which will reduce waste...I hope you have understood what I am saying, send this as much as possible so that the companies think....

It doesn’t work. At all. I ordered two and tried them both with two different sets of lighting headphones (both of which work fine with other devices) and tried each one in both of the USB-C ports on my MacBook. Nothing. The MacBook doesn’t even recognize that an alternate sound ouput is plugged in. The MacBook is new and in great condition: both C ports work fine, and audio works fine with the 3.5 plug. II have no idea what the problem is, but I’ll have to return them.

This adapter is a waste of money, just bite the bullet and purchase new headphones. I already had 2 sets of headphones with lightning for my old iphone. When I upgraded, I needed usbc. Rather than replacing my perfectly good headphones, I opted for this adapter instead. Firstly, the adapter gets hot! Not just when in use but it can be plugged in when nothing is on and it will still get hot. I was afraid how this would affect my new phone. Also, it just stops working for no reason and have to disconnect/reconnect every so often. Lastly, the sound quality is not great and is at a lower volume overall. This leads to me having to up the volume and then my phone will constantly remind me that "YoUr VoLuMe ShOuLd Be TuRnEd DoWn" UGH so annoying! What a surprise, I ended up purchasing new headphones with usbc and all of the issues went away. Save your frustration and money! I purchased 2 of these adapters and both had the same issues so I don't believe it was just a one off bunk product.
